You're in illegal possession of a prohibited firearm. Your only options are to dewat it or turn it in for destruction. No more FA firearms can be registered.
"...CFO told me not to worry about anybody crashing my front door..." Kind of surprised they didn't tell you the police would be there shortly to pick it up. Likely too much paperwork for them.
"...check with the military to see if this was a stolen weapon to cover my ass..." That'd be a waste of your time. Any STEN records would have been destroyed long ago.
"...don't even have their own guns in it..." Not required.
alrighty
Nope, they know that even being a full auto sten, its constant failures to fire will make it slower operating than bolt action gun.
This kind of comment really pisses me off. You clearly know s**tE about the Sten. I have owned several of them and shot a bunch that didn't belong to me and every one, without exception, worked perfectly. Please refrain from commenting on things you clearly don't know anything about.

Now saying that, one version WAS a POS, The MkIII. They took simplyfying it a bit too far, and it was the ONLY version that had production stopped during WW2
The RCMP does. I don't know about the CF?
True, I don't have YOUR experience with Stens. I've only fired one sten, and in 40 rounds it had 5 stoppages (2 FTF, 2 FTE, 1 fail to chamber properly). From this experience, and reading many accounts of soldiers who hated it, and talking to vets who hated it, I choose to draw my own conclusion. So be pissed in your panties all you want.
I worked with a Canadian WW2 Vet about 25 years ago and he really like the Tommy Gun with its stopping power, but when he picked up an MP40, he carried and used that for a while.
No idea if sunrays opinion is accurate, but about 95% of what he says is not, so I'd take his opinion with a grain of salt...![]()
