Hello everyone,
Im new to the precision shooting stuff, and am considering picking up a 700 SPS varmint to start out in the next few months. So right now I am trying to get as much theory in as possible before rounds start going down range. Anyhow, ive been watching a few videos of people shooting the SPS varmint with the standard internal magazine (not box), and have noticed that they appear to load single shot through the chamber each time they shoot, instead of loading 4 rounds at once and cycling the bolt after each shot.
My question is (and sorry if this has been asked before, I didnt see it when I searched), why is this done and how effective is its positive aspects? Other than the weight changing slightly as each round is cycled and disposed of, I cant think of any reason why it would be detrimental to load all the shots initially. If it is the weight, does it really make a difference?
Thanks
