Indoor dryfire training system

Just ordered one today as he lowered his price recently and there is a promo on now where you get the Mark3 brass marking system for free. Lots of good reviews on this product !!

I’ve got one. It’s not perfect but it’s rather handy and makes dry firing much more fun. It also gives you the chance to test out gear and shooting positions from the comfort of home.

Kinda like when that one time i put a Hickok45 video on my big TV, hit pause on a shot down his range and dry fired using his targets. Worked well for me with a 3-9 at the lowest setting. I suppose the IDTS allows for more positions on the fly. I didnt have any issue with focus at only approx 8' from the tele.

Interesting setup.

You can also use the "pistol" training system MantisX on rifles, you just need a method of securing it to the barrel and then you can dry fire or live fire to your hearts content.

What I've been doing is shooting from 10 yards with a repeating PCP air rifle. I just find dry firing boring since there is no real feedback.

The target is basically graph paper with 10 squares per inch. I use one square as an aiming point, but color different squares that I'm trying to hit to replicate scope dope.

Color squares anywhere on the page.... 5 squares up and 1 square over from the aiming dot, then dial the scope for it. This way it's not just dry firing, it's scope changes as well.

I made a practice cactus out of 4x4s and shoot from each branch.

This setup basically replicates all the motor skills of a PRS stage, but it's less expensive than even a 22LR and much more convenient because its right in the basement.

The key is to do it with a really good air rifle and aluminum stock. My recommendation is the Aeron stock with a (.177, 500 FPS) Weihrauch HW100, if you're interested.

Diamondback Tactical is the scope I recommend for this since it dials parallax to about 7.5 yards.

And one more thing... get the adjustable scope rings, or you may not get a zero that close and still have elevation available.

6.5 Guys have a video of a similar product. One thing that I found interesting is they mentioned some renowned world champion shooting guy (the name eludes me) and they said when he was growing up, very often he was too poor to afford ammo. So what he did was hours upon hours of dry fire practice. I do plan on getting one of these in the near future. Free time is pretty precious in our household so I hope I can get a half an hour of training here and there.
