Inexpensive 22LR pistol reccomendations?

One club I belong too uses the Mark III or the 22/45 as club guns. Another club I belong too most of us bought a Ruger semi pistol to help to new shooters. They are inexpensive, reliable, and like the 10/22 a bunch of aftermarket parts to make them even better. Shooters Choice in Alberta has them on for $375 right now. The only problem with them is they are tricky to completely disassemble but there are videos to help you.

ISSC M22 TGT Inexpensive and fun to shoot. The TGT model is very accurate also. Feels like a Glock too which I like personally.

My 2 Cents! :)

The Ruger 22/45's are nice and reliable and good transitions towards a 1911 if you are going to get one of those as well....
Something that can easily take a small red dot is a no brainer for fun introductory shooting as well.

Saw a long barrelled standard model Ruger sell for about $150 all in at the last Switzer's auction. Pretty hard to beat something like that.

I started off with Ruger MK3's a few years back. Sold them for conversion kits and bought a GSG/Sig 1911-22's when they were hot.
Only have one 22lr now... MK3 (standard) and love it!. I have no reason to look for another 22lr HG. Get the MK3 that fits you and you will not regret it.

You are going to get a lot of different opinions on what brand is the best most accurate etc.....blah....blah...blah....For the most part most of the major gun companies all have stellar pistols in .22L.... BUT....shooting is only part of the equation.....Disassembly and cleaning need to be looked at also.....There are a some brands that are easier to disassemble for cleaning than other brands.... You can have an accurate pistol that you love to shoot but is a PITA to disassemble and clean or you can have a brand that is an accurate pistol that is easy to disassemble and clean....do some research...look at u tube videos etc....

I picked up a Ruby(Spanish) DA .22 revolver on the EE. It's a cool little gun and it shoots any .22 ammo, which I could'nt say for any of the half dozen semis I have owned. That said, I might pick up a Norc M93 if I got the right deal!
