Inexpensive Bushnell?

go with the ff2 i was looking at the 3200 and leupy vx2 and for the $$ the ffly at least for me was the best almost impossible to black out i love that scope i got it in 2x-7 for i think 250 but i saw them on sale for 200 recently

X2.

I've seen them for $200 as well, brand new. The 3-9x 40mm Burris FF2 is better than the VXII or 3200. The 4200 is a better comparison, although I still prefer the Burris. Plus I really like the ballistic plex reticle.

Yes the turrets are finger adjustable.

I've been looking online for Butler creek covers for the FFII 2-7x35 do they not make them, and who does make them if anyone. Now does the magnification have it's own ring adjustment and the focus is on the eye piece? trying to look at the pics but I can't tell

I had a friend of mine have a rather nasty experience with Burris warranty service. Basically they sent him a hard-sell worded letter trying to make him purchase one of their brand new scopes rather than have them fix his old one he'd sent in. They were offering the new scope at a discount, but still were asking enough that I bet they were going to make money on the deal. The letter also (erroneously it turned out) indicated that it would be 6 months to a year (if ever) that it would take them to repair his scope he'd sent in. He stuck to his guns, and got his scope back (repaired) in fairly short order, but he and I both were left with a pretty slimey feeling about the whole deal.

That, and unless something's changed in the last year, Burris warranty service involves shipping it back and forth to the U.S. -- and we all know how much fun that kind of deal can be these days.

I'm not terribly opposed to Burris, butI wouldn't have one after seeing how they treated my buddy.

If I'm spending "real money" on a scope, it'll be Bushnell, Leupold, or Nikon for me (and maybe Weaver now that ATK owns them).

Looks like I need to have a look at these Burris scopes. I have always blown them off as a cheesy scope, though I have to admit I have never checked one out.

Now if what you guys are saying is true, and a FF2 is the same as a VXII, this might be the perfect scope for my Marlin XL7. $200 for a scope would be just right for a low cost rifle.

Actually the FFII has 95% light transmission and the VXII has 90% like the Elite 3200, the VXI has 86%. I compared the FFII and the 3200 and the Burris was clearer to my eyes, the only thing that is kind of pushing me away from it, is that I can't find lens caps for it, and you have to send it away to Colorado to get repaired if need be.

If I can find lens cover for the FFII that will be the scope I will get, but I can't find any for the 2-7x35. Anyone know where I can find them? or what size the outside Ocluar and Objective lenses are?

One of the issues with flip up covers is the eye piece rotating when you adjust magnification. My Burris FFII has a rotating eyepiece. Of course so do my Zeiss Conquest scopes. It doesn't bother me, since I only use flip ups with some rifles and don't find them a "must" have item, although they are convenient.

I was looking at getting the FF until I heard this info on the rotating eyepiece. I always put a flip up on my hunting rifles, so this is kind of discouraging news.

Does the Vortex eyepiece move also?????? and just how noticeable is the extra weight on a Vortex???
