Inexpensive O/U

Our club has a condor supreme 12ga we've loaned out every week for the last 3 years it was well used before we got our hands on it. goes bang every time.

Hey Clark,
PM me when you guys are shooting please! I will happily lend my new sweet FABARM axis to good folks for a round. Trap is pure goodness!

I am sure the beginners, most of whom have never shot a gun, will heed your advice.:p

Let me explain better what I mean by my comment. I shot one particular low-cost O/U a few years back. It was poorly balanced and muzzle heavy, the stock didn't fit well, the thin trigger was maybe 10 lbs or more, the comb hammered my cheek, and my shoulder was sore after only a handful of shots. I was flinching like there was a shock collar on me. It was a terrible experience. Imagine giving a gun like that to a new shooter? They'd never be back. I thought the idea was to encourage people to join the sport.

On the other hand, if you give them something like a used Browning Citori, it'll be a joy for them to shoot. Or at least, not a painful experience. See what I mean? Spend the extra few bucks and/or get fewer guns, but get good quality.

There's a lot of truth in that. I had a new female shooter who was shooting a cheao 20 gauge. She was having an awful time, so we put her in a ssemi 12, and it was a bit better. Then I gave her my Browning 625 12 and things started to turn around.

I find a heavier 12 is a much better bet that a lighter gun. As well, I find Brownings tend to smack less than some Berrettas and Rugers.

Silver Reserve in .410

I also give the Mossberg Silver Reserve a good review. My experience so far with mine has been good. It hits where you point it and has not had any mechanical issues other than some nicks in the lower chamber that may have been from the previus owner. It has been good value for the money and everyone at the club thinks it is a sweet gun.
