Information from Brenneke USA/ Brenneke slug FAQ

Testing still has not been completed. The list of cartridges they asked for included bullets:rolleyes: So we are still awaiting a finalized list of cartridges to be tested, then we have to get them imported for testing.

Hurry Up....This sounds like good stuff!

Brenneke Special Forces Short Magnum

Threats come in many forms these days, sometimes driving a vehicle, sometimes hiding behind a wall. Urban and CQB situations require a unique projectile—one of unequalled penetration and stopping power at medium ranges. That’s exactly what the Brenneke Special Forces Short Magnum offers. In independent testing, the SFSM penetrated a full 34.9" of FBI-spec ballistic gelatin. The nearest competitor could manage only 26"…others as little as 11". Quite simply, it’s the most powerful 2 3⁄4" load on the market…and will function equally well in smoothbore and rifled shotguns. The Special Forces Short Magnum’s massive frontal area, exceptionally hard alloys and distinctive Brenneke weightforward design will penetrate many vehicles, doors, even some walls, putting an end to the threat right here, right now.

I spoke at length with Brenneke at IWA and we just signed on to be their exclusive Canadian partner...

Now, before you go and get all exceited, we will first have to get the packaging in french and the natures approved fro importaion, so it will take us a little while to get up to speed.

We'll let you guys here know as soon as we have the green light to import.

WTF?

I have Brenneke slugs that are in boxes with Spanish, French, English. Every box I have seen in the States is multilingual.

Brenneke is a bit like Hornady. They make their own ammunition but their components are also loaded by other manufacturers. Rottweil and Rio both produce ammunition with Brenneke slugs. The Rottweil I bought last week at Al Simmons has information in German, English and French. Meanwhile the Rios I have are in English and Spanish.

any word TSE? you have my word that you will have my money when you get them!

After years of testing I'm sure the government has only scratched the surface of what a foster slug may be hiding... maybe our great great grandchildren will live to see them approved, once every secret has been ripped from those evil little pumpkin ball heads!

Slugs and where to buy them

So am looking for some of these to use in a drilling. Doesn't seem like shooting Edge here in Calgary has them even yet. Looks as though some of you have been able to find them or very similar ones elsewhere in Canada. Would really appreciate knowing where, so I can phone and have some shipped to me as the regular Foster slugs aren't that accurate in this gun. Thanks all.

Maybe we'll see these first:

"A large number of hunters take to the field with a smoothbore shotgun. Federal’s TruBall shotgun slug revolutionized accuracy out of these guns. This next-generation TruBall combines accuracy and toughness.

Federal Premium introduces the TruBall Deep Penetrator rifled slug to its Vital-Shok ammunition line. These new options get great accuracy out of smoothbore shotguns and are designed specifically for use on animals with tough hide and bone.

TruBall Deep Penetrator slugs are built with harder (higher antimony) lead than the traditional TruBall to achieve better penetration. The new slugs feature a more distinct shoulder for extra toughness and are designed to get 18”-20” of penetration.

“Smoothbore shotgunners will benefit from these tough slugs,” said Brand Manager Rick Stoeckel. “The harder lead helps these new slugs get excellent penetration. And a larger hollow-point means consistent, controlled expansion. Big game hunters are going to love the performance.”

When Federal Premium set out to make a smoothbore slug more effective for the standard slug slinger, the Vital-Shok Slug TruBall system was created. Federal’s engineers reinvented, redefined slug technology so that hunters can get great accuracy without changing barrels.

As with the standard TruBall slug, these new versions are guided down the barrel with a unique and simple plastic ball between the wad and the slug. This helps stabilize the slug in flight and results in amazing accuracy from smoothbore shotguns."
