Curious if anyone can confirm whether or not any marks on the Inglis Brens were done after the parking process like the High Powers were.

Also the rear tangent sight on the MK2 was the sight parked or a mirror finish like the rifles and hand guns at times?

Anyone have a mint Bren they can post pics of?

Clark, I've got a 10L series MkII Bren and the serial number is "in the white". So it was engraged after being parkarized.

The rear sight, which is simply split pinned in place, is parked. It's hard to determine if it was done sometime after being made at Inglis, or if it came off the assy. line that way.

So many mysteries regarding Inglis and how the made there stuff. I'd love to track down someone that worked in the place and had something to do with Quality Assurance or something like that.

My stepmom knows one of the plant managers but I dont think he was there during the war effort. Going to find out though

As for the serial number have a look at this. It looks to be in the white or is that a grease pen? The rear sight says it all I guess. Its from the Canadian War Museum. Its actually one my own pics, give you an idea how many pics I have taken over time. Forgot all about it. Looks like I,m cleaning out the numbers on my Bren as well as my High Power.

Interesting your sight is parked though but the serial numbers are in the white. If you have a look at the rear sight here in the pic it looks as though some park is still evident on the top of the sight by the elevation adjustment? Maybe the one in the museum was refinished?

Mine isn't in exactly the same shape as this one Clark:eek:

The serial looks basically the same, engraved after parking. I guess so does the rear sight. Kinda like it was parked and then the front face was "cleaned" / machined with the numbers after the parkarizing:confused:

Mine just got a bit more "patina" on it;) .
