Just a "heads-up" to my fellow CGN'ers. I saw, on the Toronto Craigslist site, what looked like an original Inglis Browning wooded holster/stock. The ad was asking $175.00, and though I don't know the current value of them, I do know that they're scarce. Years ago I had the pistol and stock (which, like and idiot, I sold), and way back then it cost me $125.00. I'd love to see this in the hands of someone who needs, and/or appreciates it.

I'm thinking that current values are around the $250 mark, however do not understand why they wouldnt be higher....much higher.
Thinking out loud, could it be that they are illegal in the USA, thus reducing the demand greatly? For example, putting a stock on an Artillery Luger is ok, however put that on a normal 4" Luger and you just created an SBR and is a huge no-no down there.

I believe there was a "reproduction" advertized on CGN recently.
I was surprised to see this because I have never seen a repro yet. But I guess it is a mater of time...............
Typical price for a SAL 1945 in nice shape is $300--350.

I've seen a few Chinese reproductions around (they've made Mauser C96 stocks as well) but yeah if this one is (was? I can't seem to find it) an original in good shape it'd be around 300-350.
I'm sorry guys!! I looked again, and it wasn't on Craigslist, but Kijiji. It's still there, and it's not a repro from the sounds of it. The pics look good, and the seller says it's stamped appropriately. Good luck to whoever gets it!
It's not quite the deal of the century if anyone's expecting that - the retaining catch is broken and the second picture (of the actual stock itself, against the door) shows it's not in pristine condition by any means. It does look original though and for $175 it's not a bad deal I guess but I'd probably be more inclined to go for the one myenfield has in the EE.

I had a repro on the board awhile ago. Different profile though. Repros have been around for awhile. I have a couple repros as well as 5 real ones.
I think the one being shown is a fake. I think the 1st pic is from somewhere else (a stock pic of a stock!?, no pun intended) and the 2nd one is what he actually has. From the 2nd pic, the colour of the stain is off as well as a few other things i noticed. As someone already mentioned, with the stated problem, this is not a fantastic deal even if it is real. keep in mind that lighting used in the pic could throw colour off greatly.

The Chinese repros were very well done, they copied all the marking and date stamps (SA LTD 1945). the big difference is they used a different type of wood and stained it. They tend to look much darker. Also the grain of the wood is not as dense as the Canadian originals. Hard to tell from his second photo if its Canadian or Chinese, someone could have tried to refinish an original years ago, accounting for the darker look. You would have to see it in person to really know, or get better photos. Not a great deal, I'd try to talk the seller down to 125, maybe pay 150 if confirmed original.

What a load of crap!Could be real, pretty sure it is, but the first picture looks like it is not the same shoulder stock as shown in the second picture.

Pblatzz the top one is for a Mauser, it looks original, the bottom one is deffinitely a Chiniese repro for the Hi Power.
