Good morning Gents,

I need your input into evaluating and appraising a few hand guns that I have recently inherited.

These are mine, they have have been passed along and given to me, however, I wish to give back to the family their current worth.

So I guess I am looking for your ballpark value. These are completely out of my area of expertise.

There is a Ruger P89 in 9mm. Looks to have very little use, no blemishes, very clean with a perfect bore. Appears to right out of the box.

A Ruger Mk.II with a bull barrel. I had to look very hard to find any markings or blemishes. Other than a couple of tiny
marks on the plastic grips, it is as new.

A nice little Taurus double action only revolver in 38 spl. Well used but not abused.

A tiny little Bernardini in .25 acp. Looks to be an unfinished project. The striker tip is chipped and the pistol has been
field stripped. However, the little dogbone shaped component that holds the striker spring etc is missing, which makes the
gun non functional. A pity really, because the little gun looks to be in very good condition.

And last, the prize of the group. A 1911 Colt in 45 ACP. By all accounts, this was used in competitive shooting. It has been tweaked by somebody who knew what they were doing. I can see a aftermarket beaver tail grip safety, a different hammer and a tricky rib attached to the slide. It appears to have some kind of facility for adjustment of the slide to the gun. (as I mention, not my area of expertise). The mag well has been chamfered and the trigger is very light with a crisp let off.
Obviously refinished, but very nice.

I have researched the value and have found similar examples sold recently, but stateside, so I have no idea as to Canadian value. I am hoping to get some input.

No clue as to what I will do with them at this point other than take them to the range and see how well they shoot. So I am not looking for 'wotsit-worth? resale value.

Thanks for looking.

Rugers $300 each
Taraus prohib (and you might as well through in the Bernardini in with it) $150
Colt, I'm not sure, but maybe a grand or more.

Jo brook has a used ruger 9mm for $450 and I bought a used WW2 colt 1911 like that with the rib sight and finish wear for $500.

P89....about 350 ; Mark II.......about 250 ; 1911.....about 750 ; the Prohib.......maybe 175 for both . These are ball park figures only....

FYI, the Ruger MK2 is not a bull barrel, just mentioning it so when you try to sell your description is accurate.

Definitely a bull barrel. The heavy (and light) tapered barrels have a front sight blade pinned to the barrel while the bull barrels have the whole ramp unit screwed to the barrel. That is definitely a ramp unit sight.

The Colt 1911 dates to somewhere between 1915-1917, I have one that has also been "sporterised" which kills the value but it is a great shooter.

This might be a dumb comment but, the Taurus is a short bbl. prob. gun. I don't think you can own it unless it was made before 1947 or some such. A google search says the Taurus didn't import into the USA until 1968. If this is correct you may have to turn these two short bbl. guns into the RCMP. If I'm wrong, well I have been wrong before.
