i have a target rifle with williams style peep sights like this:
but are russian.
the front sight is a globe sight with flat inserts. the front of the shroud unscrews so that you can replace the ring for other types of inserts. like this:
i purchased the rifle used and no other inserts came with the gun... are these all a standard size on match sights? where would i go about buying more in canada?
this is my first time using peep sights like this for hunting: they are bloody accurate, but its almost impossible to see anything under less than ideal lighting conditions, in the shade, etc. also, your accuracy is directly limited by the size of the front aperture.
are there any other TYPES of inserts other than the donut style? i seem to recall, ages ago, seeing an ad for a set of sights like this and it had a wide variety of sight inserts, like a pin with a tiny bead, etc. can anyone familiar with peep sights recommend another style insert for lower light? or are these guns solely intended for shooting at white paper targets in perfect lighting conditions?
