Interac EMT's now flagging firearms sales.

I am curious which bank as well. I won't make a snap decision based only on what I read here but it is good to be aware.

A financial institution would gladly allow me the opportunity to completely ruin my credit, lose my house and truck, rack up massive amounts of debt, charge ridiculous interest, try to sell me products I do not need and feed off of me month after month but dictate what legal products I may or may not purchase by blocking emt's. That's a scary thought.

I try that, and CGN-ers dis me. Seems getting payment in 30 seconds trumps whats' right. Have at-er all you interact/(FRAUD ALERT) fans.
(FRAUD ALERT) has been anti-firearm for some time now and has no bearing on this whatsoever. The golden rules for using EMT: Use a personal email address (preferably alias), don't describe the type of purchase in the description of the payee or the password question/answer and don't describe anything in the comments when sending or receiving an EMT other than "thanks".

As an example, if I'm buying a Tavor from John Smith on CGN, I'll set the payee up as "(EMT) John Smith" with a security question of "What is my handle?" and absolutely no comments whatsoever (describing the purchase) when I send the EMT. The same holds true for selling a Tavor and requesting payment from John Smith, where I'll use an email alias and request the password be set to my CGN handle. When received I simply reply with "thanks".

I prefer to handle any followup correspondence (tracking, confirmation, receipt, etc.) via PM as it's a lot more secure than email or text messaging.

So what's next? They're going to start blocking it if it's even a private sale and someone puts anything firearm related in the message/memo? This is getting out of hand

id prob leave my bank if they did that.
No you wouldn't. You're going to transfer your mortgage to a new lender, re-establish all of your credit cards, overdraft and line of credit with a new bank and then re-do all of your pre-authorized payments? Everyone likes to take a tough stance online but when push comes to shove they usually cave.

I'm guessing that something was compromised in regards to security and it is just coincidence about the name.

I had my bank card shut down because another buyer had compromised the terminal at a retail store and debit uses after were flagged for security reasons.

I would guess it is something like this.

Our vocabulary is way to diverse to have this happen or be a legitimate reason.

My bank doesn't make any dissension between EMT.
Just a persons name, their e-mail and the password. I'm calling BS. Unless it's only with specific banks but it still makes no sense.
Do you mean if you use EMT to pay for a purchase from a firearms dealer? BMO then is not tracking as I just ordered a couple small AR15 parts using EMT recently from True North Arms and also no issues.
If they started it I would pull all my money and leave the bank for another.
