thanks for the reply guys. Basically what i'm trying to say is, I'd like to upgrade to a higher quality rig. that being said i'm not sure what i should try next. Do i Go with a nice .308 or do i jump up to the .338? I like the timberwolf because its a higher quality rifle capable of shooting long range. I agree i would prefer a smaller caliber because i'm a cheap german but i'm not afraid to spend a little money to have fun. I dont want to go custom because frankly i dont know enough about the parts to do so. i dunno would a coyote suit my purpose better? Or maybe an Accuracy International? but i'd like to support a Canadian company so... i think PGW has my money. But what would be better? I'll be shooting gongs mostly.

Never said starting off with a small caliber is a bad idea. See I do not put down other peoples choices unless ribbing a friend for s**ts and giggles. I get tired of weeny fuddy duddy types always wanking off over other peoples choices. The best is they say it must be small weiner syndrome well last time I checked that is not my issue and I check often
So shoot what you like and what ever floats your boat hell I may have to get a 20mm now

I think you should get a Timberwolf. Cuz you can afford it and they are awesome.
You obviously have never shot a Timberwolf in .338 LM there is very little recoil. My wife is a small girl she shoots the Timberwolf no problem and is very accurate with it. I wear double hearing protection and have my hearing tested every year at work with good results. You should know what you are talking about before offering advice or forming a opinion. Your more then welcome to try any of my rifles if you are in Ontario you will be very suprised at how little recoil even my .50BMG has.

I shoot competitions from 300 yards to 1000 yards. When I get range time to practice on a normal day, I fire 50-60 rounds. During matches it could be up to 70 rounds/day. Really busy days like during the last few days of the CFRC, between shooting team matches and final matches it could get up near 80 rounds in a day.
I don't think anyone would want to be pounded by the above mentioned rounds every day for 10 days shooting a .388. Not only would the body take a pounding, for 500 rounds the cost would be what, around $2500? The wallet would take a pounding too. How many rounds can you shoot out of a .338 before the barrel is toast? Anybody shoot the barrel out, on a .338 yet?

My barrel is getting close to rebarrel! It costs about $2 a round to reload .338 my brass lasts forever with annealing so cost is not as bad as most think. My .338 LM feels like a 223 compared to my .50 BMG well yeah that pounds you pretty good although I am used to it

So please when you show up with a boomer, let the RO know so he can squad you 10 targets down from us guys shooting pea shooters.

I have always went with the muzzle brake squad when at Borden. You have given too much info now I will have John Dunmore watching you so he can let me know when your about to shoot

Alright i think i narrowed it down. Do i get a timberwolf or a Coyote (.308).
Coyote: Pros
Smaller caliber = cheaper to shoot
More practical applications
Cons
Less range (you know what i mean)
Timberwolf: Pros
Larger Range more easily.

If your cheap the T-wolf can pull at the cheap strings. I have had the pleasure of shooting the Coyote in .308 all I can say is wow! Pure ###! I was very very impressed I will be getting one when $$$ are available. I am absolutely thrilled with both my PGW rifles love them
