Interesting: Chinese Honor Guard SKS's For Sale In Canada

thanks denis, good price .

that explains why the round limiter was also chromed. i presumed he had to remove the previous finish before chroming? do you know how he did it?

I defiantly love the chromed look but $700 for a shiny SKS is a bit steep when i can buy 3 regular black "bbq paint" SKS's for that price.

If these are real "Honor Guard" with such shoddy attention to detail, then the Chinese take absolutely ZERO pride in their military.

Post # 41 is chromed metal. Post # 43 is a cheap-ass wire wheel job by a one-handed drunk.

Just saying...

The rifle in the link from the OP looks like a commercial fake: It has a blade bayonet but the stock has the tapered fore-end for a spike bayonet. For blade bayo rifles, the stock fore-end has a distinct, pot-bellied profile:

Also, the photo has the NORINCO logo, but NORINCO didn't come into existence until 1980...15 years after blade bayonet production ended.

hmmm?

Those stocks don't look at all like the Honor Guard stocks.

actually, they do. from my research these one from NS yesterday, looks like the real honor guard rifles albeit beaten up.

the pristine ones are reserved for the national parade but when it start to loose its luster, its handed down to regional garrisons which make sense.

good eye but i wouldnt call it a fake, i would say refurbished, it was a real honor guard sks at one point and the hint is the fat rear furrel for the top wood handguard. the wood cracked after pounding the pavement hundreds of times and its not possible to find a pot bellied replacement stock.

the norinco logo just means they are the exporter, they are the one that ordered the rifles be refurbished, they are not too fussy with details.

I am curious about the rear sling mount. The new ones up for sale are very different from the video clips.

thats what boris was talking about, the non-pot bellied stock had rear swivel at the bottom as oppose to on the side.

heres a pic of the HK garrison with all chrome and well worn stock but no fat furreal and fat buttplate, seems like they took a regular SKS with blade bayo and chromed it. this is significantly different than most of the ones we see.
