Interesting: Chinese Honor Guard SKS's For Sale In Canada

Stock/buttplate is wrong. It would seem the rifle in the image at the link quoted has a stock meant for a spike bayo rifle.

These look like the $200 beat to hell mixmasters that are everywhere that someone put a few crome parts on.

x2

I don't know if the guys in this thread are blind or what, but these are visibly not "chromed".... they are blued rifles which have had their metal poorly POLISHED with a wire wheel (or similar tool).

You can still see the bluing in the pits of the receiver cover:

So, if you gots some Bubba DNA in you, you can make your own with a Dremel for 1/3 the price... just add a Russian bayo, lol.

(and watch future value tank, like a "sporterized" Enfield)

Is this Honor Guard the same as the American paratrooper sks ?...ie a marketing ploy to make them seem extra special ?

No the honor Guard are not the same as the Paratrooper. The Paratroopers and a few other models were commercial bubba's that were made to pander to the Western Market. These, if they are not fakes were made for use by the Chinese Honor Guards.

If these are real "Honor Guard" with such shoddy attention to detail, then the Chinese take absolutely ZERO pride in their military.

Post # 41 is chromed metal. Post # 43 is a cheap-ass wire wheel job by a one-handed drunk.

Just saying...

I agree. I am just not giving an opinion either way as I don't have one in hand to examine and pictures are shoddy at best. So am reserving judgement. Simply started this thread for observation and discussion. If anyone has actually bought one of these feel free to add their input with more details. Till then we can only observe.

These could be heavily used drill rifles not the pristine condition parade rifles. Or they could be fakes. Who knows.

Agreed and I do thank you for posting this thread. It is a very interesting topic, albeit I would not chance it even at $200 myself. The spider sense is off the charts on this one...

Reminds me of the M@rst@r debacle with their Garands (or was it M-14's?) which turned out to be completely fake turds, lol.

Not so fast. The gastube ferrule (like the buttplate) is much wider/deeper on an HG. The rifle in the link in question does have this.

I am not sure it was chrome plated, polished then nickel plated maybe, notice the blue hue (tinge) present
in some photos and missing in others. Looks like some editing was done, contrast ect. especially in third
photo, note blue tinge on stock and pillow.

WRONG. Nickel plated has a yellow hue and chrome plated has a blue hue.

Here a few explanations on my chromed SKS. It is a 54 Russian Tula SKS Non-Refurb sold by Weimajack 6 or 7 years ago. I live in Quebec and a saw a post here from a guy from BC who work in a chrome shop and did a few of them. Now, this SKS is 99.99% chromed and is fonctionnal. Just a few internals springs are chrome free. So i spook to that gentlemen about getting one of them. So instead of sending him one of mine, he odered a few non-refurb one from weimajack and called me when he received them for me to choose one from pics he sent me. Because he knows weapons, he completly dissamble it, chromed it, reassemble it, test fired it, cleanned it , and shipped it to me.... Now the interresting part is the price i paid for a Non-Refurb Chromed and shipped to my door.... if i rememder.... less than $500.00 of our dollars cdn..... any question...... fell free to ask ..... Yes she is a beauty
