Interesting comparison tonight: 300 WSM and 303 British

Only bullets I can offer are 6.5 140gr SST, 162gr 7mm SST and Amax, 155gr 30cal Amax, 165gr SST 30cal, I think even a few 30cal Interbonds and TSX (????). Do have some 200gr 30cal Accubond but we already know the answer to these.

GH, feel like blasting some blocks of paper/water? Can send you some bullets for 'science' and gigles.

DO you have any 140gr 7mm BT's?

I don't have much time rigth now, but I coudl definitly shoot half a dozen of them into ome paper and compare it to the AB's.:)

That would be the 'fairest' test- see if the new design BT's will offer the penetration/strength of the AB's..I'd use the exact same load, they shodul be virtually identical in velocity.

If *anyone* has some, send me 6!:)
 
Sorry, use Hornady for the most part for hunting. If you would like to try some SST's and Amax 162gr, pm me your address and I will send some out.

Side by side is always best. We are unlikely to have an exact duplication of an animal but relative comparison is most useful.

personally, I go water filled milk jug at around 35yds (much drier too). With news paper, you have to make sure it is evenly packed with no glossy pages that can change the resistance of the media quite a lot.

Also, the box holding all the paper must be rigid enough not to give changing the 'media' (hey, that is a bizarre pun).

Milk jugs are very consistent in construction and water is water. I fill to the top and put the cap on. Same today, tomorrow....

Naw, that's okay. I'll pick up some BT's one day.:)

I liek dry newspaper stacked tigthly in a cardboard box. You don't need much of it, and it is easy to recover the bullets. Plus you can take about 4 shots per box.

This will stress the bullet out pretty good- and you can see "wound' channels for comaprison s sake.

I hve used milk jusgs, too though. Maybe I will do both.:p
