Interesting experience ref 762mmfirearms order

Yes.

Import is fine - as you say, Canada is fine with it.

Export from the US requires paperwork that you don't have. If you get caught at an exit point check, you're in it up to your eyeballs. Might lose the car and your freedom, will certainly lose the ammo and get on the "may not enter the US again" list.

I guess I forgot to mention the US export permit. It is available and you can get it without too much hassle. It's a wait of course. I can't believe I got away with it on 4 different occasions in six years. That's the nice thing about this website, you can always learn something.

You can't get a US export permit. Period.
A licenced US exporter can get one, though.

Ordered a bolt on March 17 2010. April 6th indicated machining phase 4 out of 5, heat treat finishing. No other word since.

I would like to see how ordering a bolt gets through and then it's final price. I'm certain many M14 Norc/Poly lovers would be interested. ;)

i was going to order a bolt .... but i'm gonna wait on hearing reviews from our friends in the states I think. I'm thinkin if reviews are good, i'm going to order a complete rifle from them.

I called today and had another chat with the guys at the company. I ended up back-ordering a complete bolt, estimated date of delivery is end of June.

Another tidbit is that the US military has basically run out of original M14 receivers, but still have asizeable demand for Crazy horses, EBR's, etc. 762mmfirearms has submitted their new receivers as well as complete milspec rifles to the US gov who may buy complete m14 rifles from them shortly.

I can't find anything that confirms their Mil Spec Parts are being used by the US military.

The US military is using new parts supplied by SEI, but to my knowledge parts from 762mm are not being used.

keep us posted H2O, if you hear anything that confirms thier parts have passed/been accepted by U.S. military. I've been casually checking TFL and other stateside forums for news and reviews but so far, very little info is getting out other than what we all see hear on cgn.

I only have their new flash supp so far but I can attest that thing IS usgi. One rock solid piece of steel.

All I can say is I had a long chat with them today and they apparently are manufacturing from the last rev of TRW drawings and they claim to have a full set of TRW gauges they are using to manufacture.

They claim that the US military has sample rifles right now that they are evaluating against GI for acceptance trials, at which point they would become an official USGI supplier of NSN parts and complete rifles.

It seems to be their business model to sell primarily to the US government, not to us consumers.

I guess we'll have to wait and see, but review should be coming in soon considering they just started shipping complete rifles and machined forged receivers out to customers.

They also make a cast receiver machined to GI spec, but obviously the complete unit would not be milspec as it's not forged. Technically the SEI receivers are not milspec either as they are machined from billet and milspec allows only for forgings.

That I know of, the ONLY milspec receiver available before these 762mmfirearms receivers came out was the LRB which is also machined from a drop-forging.

SEI did, at one time provide new receivers to the Navy, but I'm not sure if they still are or not???

I wonder if the receivers that US military is buying today are equipped with the select-fire features or not? All the ones I've seen in service were fitted with selector locks.

H2O or Different may correct me , but weren't the receivers SEI built up chinese ones? I was not aware of SEI actually making receivers...... but i'm not really up on the finer details of who has manufactured what for who and when.
