Your comment on your friend got me thinking. I know I have gone through over 8K this year on my handguns based upon primer usage but I suspect only two of my guns have more than maybe 2K - 3K on them this year. My favourite guns are not always the ones I shoot the most.

I hear you on that. My 1911 is my favourite, but doesn't get out the most. However, that might change now that I'm reloading.
Regarding how often the guns are cleaned, he mentioned in a post that they're cleaned weekly, but only serviced when broken/ non functional. I assume they'd have a good relationship with Glock, I also get the impression that Glock is very easy to get along with warranty wise. Having said that, I don't get the impression that they keep data on their rentals to the extent most rental businesses do which was my original point from the outset. As I said earlier, generally a rental business will know hours/miles/etc for their rentals as maintenance is generally less expensive than repair, and similarly often rental units are simply replaced at set intervals, as replacements are less costly than downtime. If they haven't come up with a way to keep a relatively accurate round count on their guns, they're leaving a lot of money on the table.
