Anyone out there using the iphone ballistic computer, i stumbled across it in the apps store and wondering what the general thoughts are on it?

Used it extensively since the spring and I have *never* had it crash. Bought it when there was only one version with all the features. Get at least what is now Level 2 for $12. I would recommend the full version (level 3) even though it is now $30.

Awesome app. Get it now.

Does anyone know of a ballistics calculator that can be used on a blackberry? I'm currently using Pejsa's with a spreadsheet.. I've seen Knight Armament's version on the Iphone and really liked the app!

For those who may be interested in a mobile ballistics program that doesn't run on a cell phone, have a look at: MOBALL. It's one of the few mobile ballistics programs that can use G7 BC's. It also does spin drift, coriolis and multiple winds as well as all the basics.

Take care,

Redman,
MOBALL requires a higher screen resolution than the TI-86 has. It's possible to run it on a TI-89 (though it doesn't look as good). It runs well on the TI-92 and Voyage.

Bryan,

Are you going to have a windows or palm version of the program available in the future? I use an iPaq that runs Exbal from the windows mobile os. I would be interested in your program.....but only if able to run it from an existing pda that I already have.

armorman,
Sorry, I decided to stay away from the traditional PDA's. It used to be easy to get a basic inexpensive palm pilot, but now they're all cell phones. If you have something that runs windows mobile, there are good programs for it. Loadbase is a good windows mobile program that supports G7 BC's. Also, BulletFlight for the iPhone also supports G7. I created MOBALL for those who want a good ballistics program but don't have a smart phone/iPhone and which may require a more expensive contract.

Well.........

Downloaded this app. Its a real complicated piece of stuff.

If you don't have one of the gun in their profile, its tough to figure out.

So far not impressed compared to Isnipe.

Any recommendations on how to work this................?

I found it really easy to setup, Make a new entry. google your selected bullets FPS(muzzle velocity) in your gun. It doesn't have to be exact but obviously the closer the more accurate. Add the bullet mass. Sync up the clicks to your turrets. keep angle at 0 measure your sight height (to center) if you don't know it. The rest you can fill out but don't need to. Save it and calculate ballistics. all you need to do is know the distance or range for it. the program is pretty slick from there on.

What would Federal Gold Metal Match in .308(168gr) out of a 20" 1-10twist barrel rate as in G5 or G7? I was considering an application for the iTouch in the new year for using with 2 main rifles. Hope all the above programs will save the rifle and ammo profiles as a default setting without too much work.
