IPSC 2012 national

Unpacking and I noticed I have a timer in my rain jacket. Probably too happy to get out of there Friday afternoon to realize. Anybody know who I can send this too for return?

Wrong on both counts. Now you only get one more guess so you have a 50% chance of getting it right! :HR: :p

Oh it doesn't matter, both come from the same background. Their parents might not be related like production or Standard shooters but growing up the dog got more attention than they did. That's why they shoot antiquated guns that scream "look at me I'm different"....lol:ang3:ang:wave:

...Yes, lots of the targets were close and on opposing angles through ports/windows providing a different challenge than many were used to... I do take offense to your reference to target placement as amatuer nonsense...

Mike exaggerated it a little, but his point is that this match somewhat missed diversity on presented challenges (rules 1.1.2 and 1.1.4) and mostly favored "fast-fingered" speedy runners of more then average height. He was referring to large USPSA and most European matches that usually provide a much greater diversity of shooting challenges...

Other than that it was a great match. Props were well built and match and RO crew did a great job.

To the complainers, this is a volunteer sport. Many people sacrificed a lot of time, and some cases money, to put on the nationals and other events. Without these people, we would not have a sport. Instead of trashing the people and the event, why not just say “thank you”.

Since it is always the same people complaining, why don’t you show us how it is done? Until you have done stats, been a match director, built an event of the scale of the Nationals, I do not think you will ever understand what a sacrifice it is. None of the people who have volunteer to do these things really appreciate your comments, especially on match day.

Quigley: Thank you for your comments about stats. It was appreciated.

To the Match Directors, their staff, and the Range Officers: Thank you. All of us appreciate your efforts.

I really enjoyed the National, and I wish that I had shot better, but I had the chance to see people that I only see once a year. I look forward to next year.

IPSC Canada website has been updated. Sorry for the delay, for some reason I could not upload the site, and I had to call the hosting service to get this resolved. I have included a small gallery of pictures for people to look at. If anyone is looking for a specific picture, just email me off the website and I will send it to you.

Thanks Mark,

And of course THANK YOU to the Match Directors, Statisticians, CROs, RMS, ROs, Canteen staff, stage helpers & Builders and thier families who play a big part and are often left out of the list.

Congratulations to Alex, Scott, Nick and Ivan.

"I came for the competition, I stayed for the people." (Yes, I stole that ;)) I had an awesome time.

Can't wait for next year!:dancingbanana:

What good it going to do if no one is paying attention anyway?

For the record, Ipsic is the one who designed stages for 2011 Nationals in Ontario and I am responsible for daily results updates for that Ontario match. So, give us some credit, we do know a little what we are talking about.

I know that "Ipsic" designed the stages to the 2011 nationals..........What else has he done? Beside being critical about everyone else?

Good to hear that you handle the stats. Thank you.

Euxx, It is all about approach. We are not always going to agree with the way people do things, there are times we are going to have to agree to disagree. The number of people that actually volunteer to put on events is very small. It is a limited and precious resource that needs to be respected. Treating the volunteers efforts with disrespect destroys the resource......and scares additional volunteers away. Why would anyone subject themselves to the abuse........

The point I am trying to make.......treat people and there efforts with respect, don't be an........(There are a numbers of words that can finish that sentence.)

Please PM me and I will give you my shipping address for return of the missing timer. BTW much appreciate your honesty, would have been easy to just say nothing and keep it.

No one is treating match crew with disrespect. However if someone won't point out issues, things won't improve here. I believe everyone who regularly shooting matches outside of Canada can see the frustrating difference... I am saying this with all possible respect to the volunteers.

Yeah sitting around for a while in the rain Friday I got empty headed I guess. Bolted after Warren said we could go.

I agree with Euxx. Match was great, and I had blast but we need to talk about things to improve in future.

I totally agree and constructive comments are most welcome, nobody puts on a perfect match and there is always room for improvement. I only get defensive when comments like amateur are thrown around needlessly or rules that don't exist are thrown down as factual. All is good, learned lots and if we are ever crazy enough to do it again I expect it will be even better.

Also, the individual stage results are now up on the Nationals site for those that are interested, once again my apologies for the delay.
