IPSC 9mm Major from a Glock?

IPSC Appendix D2.... Standard Division... "Minimum Caliber for Major: 10mm (0.40")" then they go to the .357SIG exemption.

Glock 34 is an excellent shooter for range/personal use. It's the only Glock I actually liked trying but wouldn't own one. Don't bother for IPSC as it's a Standard Division gun and not approved for Production. If you insist on a plastic Glock, stay in Production with the 17 or don't even bother with plastic and just get a 1911.

I've used a GLOCK 34 in Standard division since I couldn't use it in Production.

And, since it's Standard Divsion, I've added a MagLoc MagWell and Grip Adapter and put a lighter recoil spring in and have a cute HiViz Fiber Optic Sight, all wrapped up in skate board tape. It is one sweet ride.

Sorry, I meant the polymer frame, not the slide. And the Glock that I have is the model 34: long barrel (5 1/4 inches) and a light trigger. It's too big for the Production or Standard divisions and the trigger pull is too light...and I can't afford the high end STI 2011s that everyone else is shooting so I'm trying to make do wth what I have.

Quick, simple answer - Yes, you can do it - but your gun won't last very long :(
Place your order now for a replacement slide and barrel.
Why?
The reason the most of the race guns are expensive is because it takes a lot of gun to be competitive in Open Division, let alone stand up to the horrible things that we do to them. No one would even have thought about barstock slides until IPSC shooters started cracking Colts and Springfields all over the place...same goes for ramped fully supported barrels - that's a result of IPSC Open division too.

So where does that leave the rogue cartridges? I've seen a few folks locally shooting 9mm x .40 out of their race guns. And I seriously doubt they are doing this to shoot minor.

I also know of a few shooting .38 Super from race guns. Again I seriously doubt they are accepting minor scoring on these.

Are these two cartridges specified in the exceptions as well?

'Race guns' are typically in 'Open Division' (not Standard) where there is no minimum calibre for 'Major'.
