IPSC @ Barrie and No Provincials (Followup)

So you wouldn't try and resolve it...you just come straight to Gunnutz...:rolleyes:

FYI...if any of you guys think that this thread in any way contributed to the resolution of the issues...you reeeeaaaaaly need to stop flattering yourselves...;)

I most certainly would have............zero doubt. None what so ever. Nadda.

If something is rotten it needs to be brought out into the open.

As far as the BOD was concerned it was a done deal. Dead issue.........fait acompli.

It was John's bringing the whole issue into the light of day ON CANADIANGUNNUTZ and the subsequent outrage displayed by some of the membership (yes some were more than happy to drive another blade into John) that I think gave them the incentive to take another look at their actions and complete the due dilligence that should have taken place to begin with. Such concepts as "can we really do what we are about to do and do we have such power".

Oh please...

40 different people participated in the thread...which included a handful of impartial opinions...a few from out of province...a few non members...and the obligatory 3 or 4...IDPA is better crowd...

The lions share of the ranting was what...12 people? Always the same 12 people I might add

Hardly a province wide outrage...considering we ended last year just shy of 1100 members.

I have to AGREE with Quigley on this one.

Tempers flared... heated decisions were made (some of which were clearly wrong)... phone calls were made (between all those involved, and I'm sure calls were exchanged between people "above" our BOD)... cooler heads prevailed... apologies were made (along with retractions of disciplinary action)... the President/Section Coordinator presented a VERY sincere apology at the Club Rep meeting, admitting that mistakes were made and taking full responsibility for the actions of the BOD while "on her watch"...

Until I can say "I'm perfect", I'm not asking for heads to roll on this one.

Plus, I am very happy with the progress of this new BOD.

Not three full months into this newly elected board and I have seen:
1) A Club Rep meeting (1st one in over 15 years);
2) A President / Section Coordinator taking a more active roll in our Provincials;
3) Aggressively addressing a new classification system;
4) Addressing the fact that the AGM should not be held at our Provincials (not the right place to be mixing our provincials with a meeting of, let's face it, the politics of our organization);
5) Incorporating and our constitution being dealt with by the services of a lawyer;
... I could keep going....

10,135 views on the original thread.. somehow that math does not add up to the 12 people you claim are the same 12 people who always rant.....

it does not take a "ranter" to see what is happening and speak to his fellow club members to raise their awareness and concerns of the matter..

I guess it is sad that only 12 people give a damn about things. But then again not everyone feels free to voice their opinion.

And I do agree with Phil on his positive points. 100% but this situtation had ugly written all over it and needs to be addressed to fullness.

The girls with guns thread has 2.3 million views. You don't think 2.3 million people came on gunnutz and looked at that thread?

I think there is only one person who is flattering yuorself in this thread. That you Quig. You stepped down, so just let it go.

So my opinion is somehow less important than yours (with your many obvious contributions to the sport) :rolleyes:

I think everyone should let it go...

Quigley,
you disgust me with your sarcastic comment: ...with your many obvious contributions to the sport...

I am not saying that you do nothing, contrary, but you bring this one all the time when you are losing the argument. Craig please, do you think that we don't do nothing. We are not like you, type of Pharisees who does things for show.
I am not a successful RO, I am not match organizer, however I do help in both if required, and not need to brag about it and make other feel inferior, but what I do a lot is helping others. New shooters is what I do best. Spend my time and my own money, not paid by IPSC ON. And I don't care what other like you say it, obviously you can't see me doing this and I am not supported by anyone. I do it because, I see to many guys and gals coming and leaving IPSC, I do it because for me sport is more important then politics, which from what I can see you like to play all the time.
Call me now whatever you want (that is another thing you champion on this site), care very little about it. On Thursday morning I am taking new guy to range to show him how to shoot Alphas and this what I care for......

Greetings

So don't read

I'm entitled to my opinion...and I'm free to give it.

I could give a rats ass if you don't agree :rolleyes:

Sure you are, at least we are on the same page on one thing. :eek:
This is not about agree or disagree, this is about simple courtesy,
no more no less. Spreading false accusations, is what I meant.

So are other people.

Your Opinion seams to be the Board can do no wrong and No one can or should ask any questions because they are the ones doing it and they have the right.

Everyone else, yes even those that may not comment (or rant as you put it) but who see the conflict and wait for a resolution.

These other ones would like to see the people they elected and are suppose to represent, simply inform us what they are doing and why. If we have their reasons we can support them.

No more of this "I don't need a reason, this is how it is, and how it is going to be!" (not necessarily this issue)
