IPSC handgun box

you definatly having issues of your own with IPSC
We are discussing how to best abide the rules of the sport, we are not discussing the logic or validity of these said rules.

Got my box today. I am happy with it. the 150mm measure that has a tolerance of -0mm+1mm, is clocking in at 150.05mm, so if it fits my box it should fit pretty much everywhere.
My gun fits pretty tight, since I don't have an heightened mag catch, I have to take the slop out of my mag to push it in.
So in competition, are you allowed to push hard on inserted mag and rear sights? In pic it doesn't show, but mag is inserted and couldnt be tighter, I have to insert top of gun first then push the magwell in the box in last.

It is just exactly as written in the rules Appendix D2.

YOU put your gun in the box. No one has ever asked how hard I push down on the rear sights (or with my other hand push the mag a little further into the magwell). It is your gun and you may scratch or affect your rear sights when you push the gun in and out of the box, but it is you pushing and pulling on your gun.

I find it is easiest to place the gun in the box muzzle first with my left hand holding in the mag to get it clear of the edge of the box and with my right hand depressing the rear sight.

If you gun is tighter than you would like in your test box then trim the magwell and the mags if necessary. Taking a millimeter or less off the mags and magwell will not make your reloads any slower. The guns for both my wife and I are setup to fit into the box without stress. The chronograph and equipment check station should not be something that you worry about. Worry about the things that will allow you to shoot more competitively.

Thank you this very well described what was needed to know.
This is the point of getting my tight box, setting it up once and good, then its worry free and not think of this anymore.
I'll double check with all my mags to be sure, ill file the basepad an extra mm just so it slides in smoother.

Here is one of 2 I made.

What's this OPSL graffiti in the box? :)

@MartyK2500...

I am assuming your box is for personal use.

And not being able to measure it myself... I have a concern that your box is undersized in the corners. The radius cut in the corner appears greater than 0.5mm.

For personal use, no problemo... At a match, it's use would be challenged, I would suspect.

For sure, i was asked before fabrication if i minded as it was i volving less time, i said sure.
I am not a match official and to have to supply my own box, no worries.
