IPSC in Abbotsford BC

That's the plan. At least one, double qualifier. Not sure yet. And I plan on doing things different. Online sign up and pay. Pick your own squads (with limitations due to CRO/RO need). Cadets doing patching setting steel etc.

Sounds interesting. Double Q's get my vote :)

I just hope everything lines up right.

With the change in the rules allowing for qualifiers in different areas on the same weekend scheduling issues can arise.

Normally I would attend a northern event without question but I am hearing that there may be more clubs going with the Q on Saturday + a redneck match on Sunday. In that case my preference would be to travel to attend a double qualifier.

Only time will tell.

AWESOME! Am really looking forward to it.

$95 a year plus initiation fee of $25. Membership runs from may 1 to april 30. Associate fee is $60 plus initiation. Initiation is a one time fee unless you don't renew within the 60 day renewal period each year.

Oh and I would like to thank all the other clubs offering to lend us props, hopefully we won't need to borrow any though. We kind of want to stand on our own two feet for this.

Hmm. Not sure why it doesn't show up easy. I should've used a different way of making it maybe? Add me as a friend and you should be able to find it.

Whats Facebook ,I don't think we have that here in the bush. Anyways I hope you have the qualifiers when I'm NOT away working , I just may have to start shooting IPSC again.

giddee up dude. as soon as the indoor is done (waaaaay behind schedule on that one, mostly electrical/hydro related), we will be having a meeting of interested parties and mapping out a path for IPSC at Abby.

Slavex, I'm a little slow picking up on this thread but an update as of Oct, 2010 would be awesome-- specifically looking for dates for meetings on your project, work bee(s), what you still/now need, etc. Count me in as another warm body and potentially a new member for AFGC.

BTW, the Abby BOD should take note of the fact that your project is attracting new members to the club and monitor how many you bring home. I can't be the only one looking to move to a club that offers more of what I'm interested in...

Outdoor ranges are just having a little retrofitting done to the shed roofs, power is being run to the new sheds as well. On top of that spot lights for night shooting on the two new ranges will go up this week.
The indoor is almost done. Terasen pooched us on the gas meter, so we are waiting for a hi pressure one before we can fire up the MAU with heat. The MAU and exhaust fans work phenomenal though. Even though the balancing isn't done yet, no more smoke and metallic taste in your mouth when you're shooting inside.
Once this whole project is done I'll announce a meeting time for people interested in forming an IPSC club at Abby. We are a bit behind schedule, so please be patient. Then we'll need to get some money together to build props. I'm mostly concerned about movers and steel. We've already got a good dose of stands (Thanks Larry!).
How's that?

That update will do quite nicely, thank you! Congratulations on the hard work getting this done, and to the BOD for allowing it to happen. I have no doubt it will pay handsome dividends in the future. I look forward to your announcement for a meeting of interested parties on Abby IPSC.

If the gun club directors haven't considered it yet, they may wish to create a special/time limited offer of a partial membership (until May) to those wishing to become members of the club because of your IPSC project...

I don't see a reduction happening on memberships due to prospective events etc. We've waived the initiation fee a couple times for special events to try and get more members, but that's about it. As well come January (I think it's Jan) the rate goes to half price anyhow.
I'm out there for a bit tomorrow to check on progress and see what's happening. there are some weird balancing issues that need to be fixed with the ventilation, as well as some electrical that needs to be wrapped up.
playing with a few ideas on having the indoor open over the winter on weekends with a staffed RO, for those who don't want to shoot in the cold with pistols. Also looking for more info on new security systems, one that incorporate swipe cards, mag locks etc.

Well thursday the 4th of November looks to be a good day to meet for this. We have a regular club meeting that night at 7:30pm and an exec to follow that. 6pm work for people? We are going to need a chairman and treasurer for the new club. I am not sure I'll want to be the head guy and definitely not the treasurer, as I'm already on too many committees at Abby.
Please respond here if you can make that time.

I'd like to come along but I'm not a member at Abby... at least not yet.

6 PM is pretty early for working folks though. By the time they fight their way out of town it would be dicey just getting to Abby by that time.
