Can an IPSC competitor request a different RO? The rules allow a competitor to appeal a score or a disqualification but no where does it cover requesting a different RO or the circumstances. Thoughts?

I used to say "there are NO stupid questions" but my "thoughts" now are : I've just seen one! From your previous posts its obvious you have a very limited knowledge of IPSC and for some reason have a "mad on" for the sport so stick with IDPA and stop being offensive!

Do you have an answer?

The short answer is "no".

Most ROs are very professional and can put their personal feelings for you "on the shelf" while they run the brick or board. There are some competitors that I don't particularly like, but I would NEVER treat them differently than any other competitor. Why? Because if I did it would call into question my impartiality as a match official. Conversely, I don't throw people I like an alpha or 2...

If you feel that an RO's call is in error (or biased) you can take it up with the CRO and then the RM.

I agree with your assessment. I thought I'd pose the question because I've seem some wonky practices lately.

Within IPSC Canada there is a mechanism for addressing an issue like this. I don't know what province you live in, but you should find and contact (in this order):

1) Your Zone Director (ZD)
2) Your Provincial Training Officer (PTO)
3) Your Section Coordinator (SC)

If you see some "wonky" stuff, sending an email with your concerns to your section's NROI Coordinator is another option.

the competitor can ask for it under 4.5.2

4.5.2 The competitor may request that Match Officials take corrective actions to ensure consistency in respect of
the range surface, the presentation of targets and/or any other matter. The Range Master will have final
authority concerning all such requests.

I personally enjoy wonky practices and feel they add to the challenge of a stage.
Adapt and overcome!
Murica!!... I mean... Canada!!!
