buckshot?? Save your shells for the deer season. A few match setups allow only #2-4 birdshot, most 6-9 shot size, with slugs for paper targets. ideal shot size is Birdshot 7 1/2 3 - 3 1/2 dram equivalent 1 1/8 ozffgats said:hello,
need suggestions on ideal shotgun ammo for IPSC, (popper targets). what do you think of 12g. bucshot 00, or buckshot #4, buckshot#1, 0buckshot?

We're shooting full poppers at 10+ m (min) and you'd better put 90% of the shot at the top of the poopper with #4.
In this end of the country, we use 00 buck and #2 to make sure the steel goes down.
Also, there is an option in the rule book to shoot at paper with shot; provided 00 or bigger is used.
That Winchester Lawman law enforcement low recoil stuff is not too bad, (even the slugs) if you can get it.ffgats said:will give it a try the 0buck and #2, I know the 00buck wont have any problem of jnocking down PP, searching the best load for PP and the least recoil, thanks again
