Ipsc shotgun under attack?

We should cut the guy a break...I mean, Airsoft is kinda close...well...
First, the real firearms...

and now the other side of the story ....

Everytime I hear Airsoft I think of ....

To the Airsoft guys credit, they are becoming more and more "realisitic"

Truth is, it is two different sports, although similar, definately not the same, and not to be confused nor compared to each other...Airsoft is another avenue (like Air guns)...

I don't like it one bit.

Just because they look like a gun they are not. of our 3 core attributes how does POWER get involved???

I also don't like the fact it gives the antis something to point to. If we say we use our hand guns for sporting purposes, they can look at our own sport and see it is being done with airsoft.

Airsoft IPSC BS.

If it is all you got fine, cool, giver I am not against it, I just do NOT understand its point in this organization.

They pulled the original principles out of the rule book years ago, it's been downhill since then. Notice that USPSA didn't and they still have practical targets and scenarios. The way I see it we have three options, start a movement to bring our sport back to the original principles, start a new org. based on the original principles or form a foriegn union with USPSA

I must give them airsoft guys a bit of credit...it is slightly more eco-friendly....and they can recycle theirs into dog chewy-toys...

You're mistaken, We have no real gun restrictions in Hong Kong and we don't have a 10 round limit, so we have more freedoms than you.

Well at least we can take our guns home and clean them and do dry-fire practice. Hong Kong has really tough gun laws, I think there are only two or three clubs where you can use handguns from what Vince was telling me.

Intresting this is all I can find that let me to believe that all you shoot in Hong Kong is airsoftguns:jerkit: I guess nothing wrong with that but I prefer the real thing my self even with a10 rnd pinned mag

I always find this argument somewhat moot (and so has Sean when I've spoken to him about it). The fact is that the vast majority of airsoft guns in Canada are prohibited devices.

If you want to get one of those transparent-nearly-looks-like-a-gun things from Canadian Tire, well...

So he is right on that one, Canadian law is more restrictive in that regard.

Definitely not, anyone who says otherwise has never shot in limited division, their holster rules are much looser than Standard division.

Lol...so? We both have open and they are not terribly practical, at least USPSA recognized that Limited/Standard is just Open with no comps or optics, neither uses particularily practical guns or gear, nor does production...unless you think a 4lb 9mm pistol makes a good carry gun!
Even with IPSC's behind the hip bone rule the holsters and gear are the exact same, so they are no more practical. A Ghost holster is not a practical holster whether it's behind the hip or in the appendix position, draw times are no different...it's the same thing, but no worries about a range Nazi bumping you to open because you are a few millimeters off in USPSA. IPSC says "look at our more practical guns and holster positions" then says we can't shoot at targets that have "humanoid" form or stages with a defensive scenario or props that look too realistic...yup, IPSC must be more practical...lol

What was the last stage you shot that looked like a defensive situation? Hell we can't even give them cool names anymore. "Bad day at the ATM" is now called "Stage 1"....how exciting is that?!

You didn't shoot the matches up in Sault St. Marie...lol
When you see a stage named "Rock Ridge" you KNOW it's gonna be fun!
(For you younger folk that don't get the reference....look up "Blazing Saddles" on IMDB)
