I remember the FEGs in the gunshops decades ago. A genuine Browning High Power 9mm was as good as it got for high capacity handguns. Even the Inglis HPs looked rough compared to the Brownings. So, they always held their value and appreciated. That cachet has fallen off in the past 20-25 yrs with more high capacity competition. The Glocks especially took the wind out of Browning's sails.
Pre demise of the Iron Curtain, FEGs were sold as cheaper 9mm handguns. Nothing wrong with them, just less expensive. Think Zenit cameras, Belarus tractors, Lada cars, etc. Would I put one in my shooting hand and rattle off a few mags? Absolutely. IMHO, it is a safe and reliable tilt-barrel design. There are other more probable ways to get killed than shooting that particular handgun.
