Is it blaspheme? Bubba'd SKS Yay or Nay

Why does everyone always take out the cleaning rod? Looks incomplete without it. Otherwise nice job.

I agree with you, love the look with the cleaning rod.

As for the bedliner, did you have to do anything special to the stock besides sanding to make it stick? My worry is that old residual comsoline soaked deep into the stock could cause problems with the liner sticking.

I like it. I wouldn't even call that bubba'd. Furniture stripper could probably put your stock back to normal. You need to cause physical damage to call it bubba'd.

Like my 1954 Tula bubba SKS:

The bottom line is it's YOUR gun, do what you want with it. If you like it, that's all that matters.

Just like it's your sheep. It's your property, you do what you want with it. Like milsurps, though, don't boast in public about ####ing it unless you want an unflattering new nickname...

That being said, bubbaing a Chinese SKS, especially a commercial one, is pretty mild; it's not so much like sporterizing a Ross as it is asking your partner to make "baaaa"-ing noises :).

Hey Mdmaroon, do you have any specs for the modifications you made to your sks or are you saving that for the patent? :)
On the contrary.. He was very open about the modifications made because he wants for Canadian shooters to be able to use their SKS' at their original capacity, without breaking the law. 100% public service, and he even posted a youtube vid detailing all the modifications that had to be done.
