I bet they'd shut these forums and facebook groups down in a heartbeat. We are far too dependant on the Internet, we can't even wipe ourselves without it, let alone organize anything. But ya, if something like this were to happen, I'd be digging holes in the forest and protesting.

Sadly if it ever comes down to it the majority of black gun owners are obedient Canadians that will give it up with just a whimper. Any disobedient just prove the antis correct in outlawing these weapons. Sad day if it ever gets to it so prevention by voting Conservatives is the only cure.

As to convincing the merits of gun ownership unless you're "preaching to the converted" gun owners the rest rather take the easy route of banning guns. Most act emotionally toward Guns rather than rationally.

AR-15 was saved from becoming prohibited once..

All is not hopeless, you couples of years back the Goverment wanted to prohibit the AR-15 and lobbying by DCRA (I think) managed to designate it as a restricted firearm not a prohibited one.

I wouldn't call this a big victory but it's still significant non-defeat

This thread inspired me to write my "Stop Worrying and join the NFA" message/rant this morning. I've watch many shooter/hunter talk about they would do but we should focus on what need to be done right now!

Breaking the law, no matter how stupid the law may be, will never be the right answer.
And violence, or threats thereof... that's just stupid and feeds the enemies.

The only answer is to support the right political parties and politicians, and to educate.

If something like this happened, then they might change there views if 20,000+ gun owners protested in ottawa.....with or guns. Canadian gun owners outnumber the police and army, so we dont need to be bullied if we stand up for our rights.

You should ask some of the older guys how many people protested C68 on Parliament Hill, it was a lot more than 20k. From what I can recall it barely made the news and it sure didn't change anything. btw, the cops were there with snipers on the roofs. I think showing up armed would have resulted in something very ugly.

While you are at it maybe you can find out how many guys still own their SPAS-12's. Confiscation has happened and afaik no one did squat other than hand over what they were told to. I don't think it would be any different today.

Get out and vote, convince others why they should vote conservative, and get as many people intrested or even better, involved in the shooting sports.That is the best and most sure way to help prevent any further restrictions.

How many have you taken your friends, classmates, coworkers, famliy, newbies to shoot?
How many have you tried to get them to get their PAL?
How many have explained to others the laws of firearms, disarmament, history, and the importance of self defence?

We must do this to keep what we have, do not blow away young ones to shoot also, educate them and point them to the right direction.
Many people, especially young people, just simply never got the chance to know anyone who owns a gun.

You want to keep our gun rights alive? Start with the young newbies, do not underestimate the facebook generation.

Not exactly surprising. How many are willing to put their family at risk by going to prison or shooting it out with the cops over pieces of plastic and metal?

There'd be a few who'd take the issue to the courts, though. Since there's the Internet, it'd also probably receive more support than any post-C-68 efforts.

I was there, it made the news, it didn't work and I never felt threatened 1 second (because I didn't notice the snipers )
The only way we can fight back is join an effective law abiding organization such as NFA and obey the law even it's an ineffective, cumbersome.
I lost a small fortune during the my C68 gun firesale but it's better than being on the wrong side of the law.

Canada is based on Law, Order and Good Goverment, let's convince them that fewer gun laws means a better Canada.

I disagree and I dont think you can be too proactive ... There are very little arguments on your side for why you need an assault rifle.

I dont think there will be a single non gun owning citizen or even non black rifle gun owning citizen who will say "Yes I think those people should own assault rifles". This will simply not happen. Rather it will be "Those dangerous assault rifles must be banned"

If you just wait, then everything besides a hunting rifle will be gone.

Except we haven't been able to own assault rifles since the 70's. All these rifles are are prettied up self-loaders.
