Is it just me or has vortex become garbage?

Anyone have/heard issues with the Razor HD Gen II? Just about to order one.

Tomochan: Thanks again for the great review.
I have never been a Vortex fan - always thought they were a great warranty company that made scopes. The PST line is where I felt there decent scopes ( quality vs price ) were at but I am very, very impressed with the Razor HD Gen II. I figure that the lower end stuff is just there for market share and marketing.

That is why you want a swivel bipod. For harris get the lever.
With my TRG bipod level, load to lock in position. A lot easier than harris knobs.

Levels, bipods... I may need someone to teach me this stuff as I have no clue. I'm having a hard enough time finding an optic that will allow me to have a clear reticle and sharp focus on the subject (I have high index eyeglasses that mess with me when using an optic).

Pretty straight forward to level a rifle before you pull the trigger in person; don't have to remember all the terms, just twist/turn with your hands.
Good luck finding optics, sight is very personal, hopefully you have a range with folks that have the scopes you seek to look through them at distance of at least 100m.

My experience with Vortex was only positive. Their warranty and customer service was excellent and I cannot complain. I had/have few Vortex scopes and none of them had any issues. Yes, the PST glass is not as clear on x24, for example, as a Nightforce glass or even Burris XTR, but for the money, it's an excellent scope.

As for the Crossfire, I wouldn't put it on .308. I understand that there is some limitation with low-end scopes and buying something for $150 one shouldn't expect much. Any other brand will be the same; quality product simply cannot be inexpensive.

I can't speak for the lower end Vortex stuff since I've never owned anything (and never will) lower than a Viper PST series. I've never had any problems with one and even though I sold my 6-24 I still own my 1-4 and 4-16. The magnification ring on the 4-16 has become very stiff and I'm thinking about sending it away for repairs but it's still performing well other than that.
I had a chance to look through a PST gen 2 last week and it was definitely a nice scope but unfortunately the improvement over the gen 1 has raised the price enough that I'd rather look elsewhere as I don't like the idea of spending $1500 on a scope made by a company known for how awesome their warranty is because so many have had to use it.
