Sure, providing that you're willing to believe that everyone doing so has the financial means and is up to the challenge of being a beta tester.
For some, the cost of the base rifle and the conversion is prohibitive. Some people don't have the reloading experience needed to develop a load that will actually cycle the rifle reliably 100% of the time without over gassing the gun and developing reliability issues or possible damage to the rifle itself. Diagnosing problems and potential issues may not be a person's strong suit either.
Doing a conversion on a bolt gun or break action, for example, will reduce a great deal of the complexities involved and will be far less demanding of the end user as a result.
The OP can do what he chooses but doing so doesn't mean it will be successful.
