Well fair enough.
I will conceed your point that where firearms,
a. particularly auto loaders, "mangle" brass, (the only really reusable protion of the fireing process for reloading purposes), or
b. throw spent brass in to the next county
reloading seems to be a futile effort.
Your SKS is a perfect example where supluss is more than adequate. SKs's are not "precision rifles" and that any surpluss ammunition (corrosive of othewise) is more than adequate foder to feed it. Further, brass catchers in these situation are cumberson, and effect ballance.
Definately some thing to consider.
However, where precision is required, brass is able to be collected and reused, and a slow deliberate rate of fire is used, I still hold that reloading in this situation is superior.
