Is the 6.5 x 55 Swede a do it all cartridge

Turns out its a really nice rifle for $570. Stocks got great character alright. Time to get a pad on it and have it properly bedded.

Very nice, low mileage rifle though! Pretty happy.

Looks like its a do-all cartridge for you for sure Dgradinaru!

If you ever decide to part with that Ruger, mind if I call dibs? Hahaha

For sure. I have the 160gr RN set up shooting 2" high at 100 yards and the 140 accubonds shoot 3" high at 100 yards for 300+ yard shots. Sub MOA shooter. Very happy the way its shooting and such light recoiling. Kinda forgot what the 6.5x55 felt like.

That sounds outstanding! Really nice platform for it too. Must be a joy

Aw, man! Sorry! I hope another one turns up for ya!

I happened to be on right after Buckmastr posted this one and wasted no time lol.

Haha, no worries. I picked up a nice custom one off of here, new zastava barrel on a kar98 action in a nice bedded montecarlo style walnut stock. Adjustable trigger. Heavy, but shoots real well. The 1640 just about got sold, but its such a nice rifle too I decided to keep it.

Oh I know of the one you you're speaking of! Looks like a great rifle!

I'm pretty pleased with it. The only thing that disappoints ever so slightly is... 43 kar98 action isn't the epitome of smooth. Not near as smooth as that husky. But it'll hopefully get me a deer and some coyotes.

Not hard to guess which one was built by slave labour while B17s were saying hi? lol. I get ya on "ever so slightly" tho. Part of its charm!

Lookin forward to hearing/seeing what you do with it!

For anyone who doesn't mind vanilla cup and core bullets, the 156 grain PRVI/PPU semi round nose look like a relatively cheap, practical option.

From what I've read, seems the PPU is like a old remington corelokt? For the price, seems to be something to look at.
From what I've seen for prices, they look to be the cheapest option for 160 gr RN bullets.

Yeah? Cool, didn't know that! Just that they stay together decently.

If they are similar to the old school Core Lokt before they became Hornady Interlocks thats good! Good place to be at $42 per 100.
