Shoot em quicker. So after a few more months of shooting, I shot my first round of 20 today! For many of you, that's probably a bad score, but considering I was shooting single digits just a few months ago, I'm pretty happy! I'm averaging high teens. Trying to be more consistent is key for me, although I do struggle a bit with hard left/rights still. I have the BT-99 plus and the Citori CXT and while the POI seems to be very similar, I find the BT-99 seems to balance/swing a little better for me. I'm shooting the BT-99 exclusively now and the CXT is now delegated as a backup gun (I shoot singles only for now). If you're shooting singles, I would highly recommend the BT-99!
don't get all twisted about patterning the gun patterning makes liittle difference at crossing birds incoming birds and so onNot trying to talk you out of a new gun . As a plan B you could buy an aftermarket adjustable butt pad plate for your Citori . Add a rib makes an affordable kit.
Have you patterned the Citori at all and see where your POI is with it in it's stock form? Might be a start too see where the problem is with it.

Patterning your gun is no more a waste of time than sighting in your rifle. If you don't know where the shot is going, how can you hit anything? The factory has no idea how the gun will fit you so how can they "set" the gun properly? A few shots at a piece of paper will give you a good idea whether the gun is shooting high low or flat. And, I'm sure with your AA average, you know that there are no incoming or crossing targets in trap. The BT99 is a poor choice for a skeet gun.don't get all twisted about patterning the gun patterning makes liittle difference at crossing birds incoming birds and so on
the gun will be set properly from the factory your issue is with stock height and cast fix those issues first if that part is correct you will break enough targets to know what's going on
plus when you hit a target you will know by how it breaks if your pattern is centred
trying to fix a problem that is not a problem is a waist of time
We had a fellow averaging 15-16 at skeet, usually hitting the low house, but missing most high house. I set up a target box by the stake, and we discovered that his point of impact was a good 8-10 inches to the left. He was shooting a cheap Turkish O/U at the time, and the next week , he showed up with a Citori CX with adjustable comb. We got the comb set up , so his point of impact was centered, the next round he shot 22, and the following round he shot 25. Had he never patterned the gun, he would likely still be shooting 15-16, instead of working to get his 50 straight patch.I've seen quite a few guys figure out why they are not hitting many targets after a few shots at the pattern board. If your gun is shooting a foot left and a foot high then that's a big problem!
