Is the type 81 lmg trash ?

Are you asking about scalpers? That seems obvious. There is a difference buying a ticket (or a gun) and realize you can't go (or don't like it) and wanting to get your money back versus trying to speculate on something. There is a reason scalpers are disliked profusely.

Me too, I'd be pressed to pay $1000 for one new. That said if people are charging that much and others are buying them at that price, well, I guess that's the price. Just makes it even easier for me to walk away from. I'm not particularly fond of the 7.62x39 round either, which also makes it easy for me to ignore all the $4-500 SKS's out there currently too.

Different strokes for different folks, not my thing but ultimately if my fellow gun owners are content with what they're getting then good for them, I hope they enjoy and shoot the heck out of the things.

scalpers waiting outside a concert. lol

If you play it smart you can get tickets cheaper from scalpers. It’s only worth it if you don’t care to miss the opening bands. First you recon the scalpers and hang around outside until the headliners is about to hit the stage. Offer 1/4 up to half of what they want and someone will take accept your offer. They will take what they can get at that point.

Saw a Rolling Stones concert in 2005 for $30 a person.

Yeah but concert tix are perishable i.e. value goes to zero as the night ends. At least these LMGs should have some residual. I suppose at the next shipment nears - whenever that is - prices should come down closer to retail or less.

Still, not my thang lol.

Unfortunately for us, “legal” gun purchases and ownership is now perishable.

lol "Military grade" does not mean of good quality, or modern. It just means built to an agreed list of specifications.

Yes with many items that means it will be hard wearing but that may not be true or mean it works well with something else. The SA80 A1 and INSAS rifles are for example "Military Grade" but abhorrent

Bent/canted sights are military spec for the Chinese military

I don't mind the type 81 (non LMG) , but I cannot stand the sights. First thing I would do is grind off that stupid "hood" , and make it like SKS sights.
Why would anyone want that stupid hood to block your FOV is beyond my understanding.

So is it worth more or less after you cut the sight?
