Is there a need for more Cdn made AR parts?

I have one of the custome lowers, and I used a Stag LPK - pistol grip fit fine. However, I had a #### of a time with the rollpin on the bolt catch. I managed to get it in after reaming the holes out a bit, but I also managed to mark the lower a little bit by the hole, which kinda sucked...

I put a magpul miad on as well and had no issues. Used the screw magpul provided and tightened her down, then realized I forgot the lock washer they provided, pulled it out and back down she went....hmm? Dunno man, hopefully another washer fixes it.

Good call - it is indeed money well spent. I'll know next time...

I have done probably a dozen ar lowers, what I found to be a god send besides usingthe proper punchs is to tape off with the ribbed heavy shipping tape underneth where the punch would hit if it slipped... since I bought the properroll pin punchs and a good 10oz dead blow hammer it makes life a lot easier.

Success. I used the DPMS screw and it worked. The Miad screw must be out of spec or something as I tried to just put the screw into the lower to test it and it was providing more resistance than it should. The Miad and CTR look great on the lower just need the upper now.

Thanks for the info,,, ;) Here she is so far...

Thanks Rick, keep the cool s**t coming ;)

Just to keep the record straight and keep the praise where it belongs.
This has been a combined effort on the part of the ATRS crew, without the extremely talented help I have here, this "cool stuff" would NOT be happening.
:D

We have been pressured hard to make another run of these lowers, so I have ordered in more bar stock, in which to run production run #2 of another 50 lowers with.
This again will take time to do, but for those who want on the list for this next run, please contact me at atrs@telus.net directly.

Also so no surprises are forthcoming, the price is $550.00 plus shipping and gst. If we can't make a few bucks on each 1 there is no point in running the machines, not whining but we lost our shorts on the 1st run. They say education costs $$, How true!!!

Also these will have only 1 option, and it is limited to the firecontrol markings. Most will have the standard H&K markings but a few will be run with Fire/Safe and a few with the Shocker.
NO OTHER options or additional engraving, serial number choices will be offered, the logistics proved to be a real nightmare:runaway:

I had the area taped off, and was using a proper 3/32 punch - however, I did not notice the punch had moved a bit, and when I smacked it in, it gouged the raised area right beside the hole - not that big a deal, abit of flat black paint on a toothpick covered it up. Overall, these lowers were killer!

How is the finish? Is it smooth? The picture is misleading and it kinda looks like some machine marks are visible, or is that the camera flash distorting it?
Mine came in yesterday. Its amazing.

Rick, you guys did a awsome job on these. I just put a DPMS LPK and a one piece Timney trigger and it all fit perfectly.

That adjuster to take up the slack between upper and lower is the first time I have seen this used on a AR lower, none of my others have that.

Too bad you wont do more of the custom engraving, casue thats what puts them even more over the top.

I`ll take another standard one for a dedicated .22 upper.

Wicked work! Thanks!

You mean to tell me you didn't carve these out with a Dremel tool in your spare time.:p:D

Outstanding team effort.

Sorry to hear the engraving options are being thinned out. Is this something more cash could fix or is it a real logistical nightmare?

I am not sure but generally more money is always a fix...hehe. We all know you have a skunk that craps small gold nuggets on your ranch. :)

Some custom engraving on the off side could be arranged at additional cost, but the serial number thing became a real headache.
If laser engraving like was applied to the more intricate 1s like Paulinskis would work, that is much easier to do, to write programs for 1 of engraving in the CNC mill is toooo time consuming and makes it cost prohibitive, which is why I initially said no.
