is there a review out there that compares all the sub-$1000 O/U against each other?

Nope..they are not...Just the name is all.

Just watched a video on the new Webley and Scott on youtube. I know nothing about this gun but "The Gun Store" called it cheap, poorly made and the trigger has a lot of creep and take up. It's a 4lb trigger but an "unbearable 4lbs". Lol. What else did they say... the stock was poorly finished and the wrong shape and the action is a poor copy of a Miroku action. In the UK it costs $400lbs. Don't shoot the messenger.

I never shoot messengers...been one lots of times..lol

Is this the vid you watched ? They sell hundreds of them and only 2 back with a selector issue...he says a lot of gun for 700 pounds. Other than him not having the wood sanded and finished to his liking, I think overall, it's a pretty good review.

here's another one I visited before making my choice in buying another O/U

I'm honestly thinking about getting a second one in 12 ga for birds as I traded in my BPS towards the W&S 20 in the spring. Once you start shooting O'U's, it's some friggen hard to go back to pumps and semi's...lol

I'm not sure about that, I go back and forth between my pumps and my O/U's depending I'm in the mood for. Shooting doubles skeet or trap with a pump is definitely more fun.

yea...it is fun forsure...even more so If you can remember to "pump" the friggen fore stock...instead of trying to break the trigger on the second shot...lol

CZs are well reviewed in other forums. Having said that, I'd be more inclined to get something used in a higher quality gun. I'd also caution that a high quality gun is not automatically a good gun for you. I know it in't that simple, but if you can try some out before buying, you'd likely find fit and feel are far more relevant than price alone.

Well as said before you get what you pay for that bring said not everyone has 2-3k to spend on a o/u . As far as reviews it’s simple poor quality wood poor fit wood to metal fit . Generally not well balanced pro yo inhearnt problems . If you are looking to use it to shoot 2-4 boxes of shells per year they will likely work fine . If you can put $1400-1800$ together there are citori’s even ruger red labels and sometimes even a beretta. Got the kind of $

Well - I own a range of over and unders. If I was going to limit myself to a sub 1000$ expense, it would be a Baikal. Not the prettiest, but entirely functional and reliable. I picked up a sporting model years ago, c/w chrome lined, ported barrels, steel receiver, extractor vs ejector switch, 3 in steel compatible for well under 1000$. Its seen lots of rounds at the range, and even the duck hide. If it falls in the water, I wont lose any sleep.
Too bad the Russian embargo has stalled the import of Baikals into the country.

I have a stoger which is heavy .....very heavy! But seems to keep on going good. But I miss with the top barrel and when I switch guns I can hit the same shot so I assume the barrels aren't regulated the best.
I also have a churchill which balances and shoots great so far.

All manufactures put out a bad gun once in a while, some more than others. I have a Canuk OU trap gun made by Kahn arms in turkey and for $1200 the features and fit and finish can't be beat for this price. 5000 rounds over the last year and a half and not one problem. Yes it's not a browning or beretta, but it's close and i was not going to spend $3000 on a gun to start out and try my hand at clay sports. Ignore the name brand range snobs There are good guns out there that don't start with a B!!!!

Post a report when you reach 50,000 rounds.
