I get my Beowulf 50 pistol mags from Canadian Tire. They hold 10.9 rounds... on sale right now too!
I'm going to go out on a thick limb and suggest we are going to have trouble enough with the 5 rounders soon, depending on the outcome this fall.
Some of the ones on the market now are downright dodgy.
If you think you are standing in no mans land... You probably are, you can take ground to safety of retreat to safety.
In the near future the political momentum will be established, if there is a lib/dip gov we will be surrounded and the situation will dictate trying to salvage what we can in retreat.
If the CPC form gov, we would be foolish to not push ahead lest we leave opportunity to act with our opponents.
We should be planning as group/community on moving forward with pistol/beo mags as soon as the election is decided favourably.
When the antis cry about it, we let them know we want some classification changes to non restricted as well, while reminding everyone what happens to political party's with anti gun policy.
No there isn't a legal requirement for the end user not to get in trouble... That's just bizarre. There is however a legal requirement for the end user not to get in trouble for having a prohibited device unless you like the sentence that goes along with that charge
You need to read the law and work it out for yourself. You'll find I am correct.Just because you're extra sure of yourself, and use symbols in your swear words, doesn't make you right. If they decide that they don't want a certain firearm or mags to be available, there is "sweet f@€k all" that YOU'RE going to do about it.
You must be new here....
It is not so much a "requirement" (poor wording on my part), but no law abiding person is going to put themselves in a position to possibly get arrested and charged for possession of a prohibited device. Even if it was a mistake on the officer/crowns part, punishment by process is very costly, I know first hand and would suggest to avoid it if at all possible as you will never get costs refunded. No there isn't a legal requirement for the end user not to get in trouble... Good lord, Brian. Maybe you had a bad experience, maybe. I can't speak to that... I do know that many, many law abiding people use thousands and thousands of unapproved products everyday. It is not so much a "requirement" (poor wording on my part), but no law abiding person is going to put themselves in a position to possibly get arrested and charged for possession of a prohibited device. another reason for my caution to simply avoid being accused from the start. He should be able to tell you what's what and who's who.
I've told you this before, I'll tell you again... If you, the best firearms lawyer in Canada or both don't feel comfortable with any legal product for sale in Canada the answer is simple. DON'T BUY IT!!! That's it that's all.another reason for my caution to simply avoid being accused from the start.
If there was a mechanism for seeking costs of wrongful persecution that was guaranteed, many of us could better afford to do so. But currently you have to prove malicious intent in court to win any sort of case like that which is very hard to prove beyond a reasonable doubt. The old "acting in good faith" or "in interest of public safety" defense seems to cover almost every angle today preventing compensation for costs.
Just because I have a law firm on retainer does not mean I have the funds to defend against anything that can possibly come up, But on the other hand, the federal government has an unlimited supply of money.
you seem to take my position as a law abiding gun owner cautioning others to avoid a scenario where they may be punished by process due to lack of knowledge or ignorance on the enforcement side in a negative light.....why?I've told you this before, I'll tell you again... If you, the best firearms lawyer in Canada or both don't feel comfortable with any legal product for sale in Canada the answer is simple. DON'T BUY IT!!! That's it that's all.
You can take your fretting, hand wringing and worrying over to Canadian knitting nutz dot com.
And PS. your posts totally betray your sig line. You come off as a hand wringing, worry wart.
And pps. If you are so worried about the police... Stop having police encounters. I don't find myself talking to police. I have a hard time working out why you seem to be so concerned unless it's self inflicted.
There's a fair amount going on in this post. Let's break it down a little.you seem to take my position as a law abiding gun owner cautioning others to avoid a scenario where they may be punished by process due to lack of knowledge or ignorance on the enforcement side in a negative light.....why?
It really is common sense to avoid any situation like this, you can assume I mean don't buy a certain item, or dont have fun, but that is your interpretation of my post, not mine.
Nobody can stop having police encounters, they are tasked to do a job, they are at my shooting range daily, in the woods when I am hunting, shooting, camping, on the water when I am boating, on the roads when I am driving, etc. They choose their time to interact with me, I do not choose to interact with them through my actions because I am a law abiding citizen and should be free from any such action. It is ridiculous to even suggest that I can decide when a police officer will pull me over/force an interaction unless you are trying to say I am not a law abiding person......?
No, It means you were punished by process, not that you did anything wrong. for example Mike Hargreaves was punished by process, he did nothing wrong and it took 11 years and thousands of dollars for the government to acknowledge this. A more simple everyday example would be getting a ticket which you dispute because you did not do what was alleged. you are then forced to take a day off work to go to court to have the ticket dismissed after you give evidence. You were "punished by the process", you were forced to take a day off work at your expense to explain you did not do something to have a fine and points dismissed from your driving record (if your province does that). There's a fair amount going on in this post. Let's break it down a little.
"Punished by process". This phrase indicates you've done something wrong. If you feel you are being unfairly persecuted there are steps to take. "The best fire arms lawyer" in Canada should be able to direct you in the steps you need to take.
I agree, and the topic at hand is 50 Beowulf mags, I have them, but not any that have been modified or do not function in a 50 Beowulf rifle. As I stated in another post. It is my belief that Canadian gun owners as a whole are in this place because of people like you. If it's legal, and the topic at hand is, we should be out there doing. There's an old saying that goes "God hates a coward", I'm not a religious man but that rings true here.
then what are you posting about?I don't think you're telling people not to buy LAR-15/.50 mags.
All I see is you playing the blame game.If the police are at your shooting range daily (they aren't at mine) don't go there.
If they pull you over everyday, don't drive the way you do.
I've seen the police in the bush very few times I don't know where you're going but again DONT GO THERE!
Boating? Give me a break. I'm on the water more than 90% of people. You know how many police encounters I've had on the water? Zero. Yup zip, zilch, nada.
You see where I'm going with this? If you're having too many encounters with the fuzz, it's probably you.
I buy what I want, that has nothing to do with my cautionary statements as you clearly do not understand what punishment by process is.Again, if you feel uncomfortable buying any product be it magazines or dildos.... Don't buy them. Let the rest of us shop for big black dildos, or perfectly legal magazines for our guns as we may.
"punishment by process" is a saying people use to describe the costs and burdens associated with wrongful persecution like those examples I touched on above where you have no recourse to get costs back or sue for damages.Yup... It's me that doesn't know

where? With regards to the question "what are you posting about?" The answer was in he quoted post you've chopped up.
If you have firearms along, yes, they check everything. I use a boat for transportation to hunting, camping, fishing, shooting areas, etc. as do many othersThe police are very avoidable... And guess what? They aren't checking your magazines at the boat launch. You're really grasping at straws here.
Get a clue, Brian.

I also explained why in an even earlier posts, see "acting in good faith" and "in the interest of public safety". You can say I am wrong because you call it different, but examples of this happening is everywhere if you look. A good lawyer can explain to you the "burden of proof" required is very high if you decide to try and seek "costs" in such an instance, making it very difficult (next to impossible) to get a judgement for reimbursing your "costs"
where?

We should be getting rid of the mag limits and restricted status since they are useless, not making the grey water greyer
what would you call it then since I have seen this term used on this forum by many others before to describe the same situation? Thanks for telling us your take on what it means... Unfortunately, you don't have a very good grasp on the English language.
making cautionary statements in an effort to help other gun owners are a far cry from what you are suggestingGive up on the cops out to get you bs. It makes you look like a criminal or crazy...maybe even both.
which "commonly available product" are you discussing now? as in what make and model? One more time for good luck. If you don't feel comfortable purchasing a commonly available product because of legal concerns, don't. It just isn't that hard.
What are you talking about? They've been around for 3 years at least:
But, that's not a pistol available direct from a manufacturer. That's one guy in the states. Currently Alexander Arms doesn't seem interested in producing their own pistols, so you'd need some other manufacturer to take up the cause.
Best money you'll spend for a nr black rifle man, While back was thinking a 223 vz or a rob arms until i found my 180b. Man wish someone could make a metal lower .
