Is there such thing as a precision black rifle????

There are no truly sub moa nonrestricted semi autos.
Lots of restricteds, but no non restricteds...

Have you looked at something like a tikka tactical in an xlr chassis ?
Around $3000, looks the part and is a sub half moa gun with hand loads.

What do you mean by truly sub moa non restricted?
You better tell that to some of the HK SL8's out there. I don't think anyone told them yet. Mine will be shortly, I just need a couple more trips to the range testing ammo. I've got it to 5 holes in 1 inch at 100yds with a couple combinations but haven't finished tuning and think there is more to be had. I'm also going to test some of the factory ammo I was using before that was very close using my 4 power scope. I think with the 4-12x42 it is going to tighten things up a little.

flash suppressor/muzzle brake is required?

No not required at all, but the right one can help shrink groups just like the wrong one will open them up. You want a brake on a large caliber rifle to tame the recoil so you don't develop a flinch as well. My 338 Lapua kicks like a 308.

someone lied to you if you actually believe that

.???? Sarcasm?

Is there such a rifle. I, willing to spend $4000 on a out of box rifle. As long as its non restricted and doesn't need to shoot bullets designed for taking down aircrafts.

I shot consistant .5 MOA from the same rifle with factory loaded 77gr federal, It also comes with the test targets to show that it is capable of sub MOA

If you just want a stock for something you have check out Boyds. They will ship to Canada and will cost you $100.
I put one on my Savage model 10 and it turned out really nice.

I understand the principal but it sounds like the op was looking for a black rifle/223 which requires nothing.

Your SRS looks cute, If you travel out to BC I'll let you try shooting his Daddy LOL

I just did a quick search on frontier. They have a sr8-4 and sr8-5. Any major differences sbetween the two?

Any pics of your rifle

could build a precision ACR that will do sub moa. Get a high quality barrel made by Heron, the AR stock adapter from Argonauts Inc for a PRS stock and a Geiselle trigger. That should do it all day long.

(So I guess my question is, is there a black rifle out there that can do it? give me MOA or sub at long range (300-400 yards). OR is there upgrades that we can make to a XCR, Swiss? etc? barrels? )

( 300 - 400 yards ) this is not long range ?

Deer god. Always one guy.

For a rifle in the serge category of black being like 4-6 moa. 400 yards is long. My point of this thread exactly. I want a rifle that is capable of shooting with the precision rifles.

I hear ya on wanting the cool toys Chago, if you want to stay non-res i would go with CR5's suggestion of a heavy barrel HK rifle. For restricted definitely SR25 has the ĂĽbercool factor. For me there are few rifles that I think are as ĂĽbercool as this one. Unfortunately it comes with an ĂĽberpricetag also.

Have you ever seen the savage 10ba...seriously!!

Ya, I even seen one today at the gun store, person behind the counter was saying to the guy buying it that 2500m is no problem with it, even telling the guy that the Zeiss Conquest he was buying for it was made in germany (no it was not the new HD series)

I had to leave the store.

can no one do this with a good M14 platform? I hear everyone talking about how good .308 is at longer ranges, and I see how far we have evolved the Norinco copy of it over the years.

I had an off-the-rack Stag 2R a few years ago that was an honest 1/2MOA rifle at 300y with careful handloads. I suspect it was a fluke/freak, but I believe that it could be fairly easily achieved with an AR15 build with the right barrel and trigger.

I can't speak to the NR black rifles if that's what you're looking for; all of my precision rigs are/have been very boring bolt actions.

If you want a norinco to shoot sub MOA all you need to do is swap out everything with parts that say Springfield and have a gunsmith who specializes in the M14 platform assemble and tune it and voila MOA rifle.

Easy peasy.

Then he needs an SL8 and to find the ammo it likes eating.

I don't come to BC very often other than in the winter for a snowboarding trip but I'll definitely take you up on that offer if I come in the summer.

I'm not sure I could have left without telling the guy he was an idiot.
I think the 10BA can also shoot into space.

Silen,
Just because it's black doesn't make it a black rifle. It's a bolt action precision rifle. I've shot one and the 110BA in 300win and they do shoot very well but that's not what the OP is looking for.
Have you ever seen an AR...Seriously!!
Besides that there are very few semi auto rifles capable of MOA or better.

either you go the semi custom specs route like the LMT MRP or a heavy barrel match specs custom AR build in 6br or 6.5 creedmore (or grendell) . don't expect sub moa all day long beyond 300 yards with anything less in semi auto. not sure you can get a 6BR-6.5 creedmore barrel'ed LMT ,but sure you can get one modified .in this case , expect quite more than 4000$ ; btw i think it might be a job for ATR.
