Hey its not like he's still saying it was 1000 yds, he admits he's not sure of the distance.

First he claims 1000 yards, them he claims over 1/2 a kilometer, then he admits that he has no idea just how long a yard is.

Not everyone shoots at ranges and actually knows distance so take it easy

And how many people claim their shot was 1000 yards?

He's a really fun guy to have on your forum.

He makes the perfect village idiot. And it sounds like there are few clowns on the ontario site to help him. :)

actually he posted on the wrong board-it should have been posted under''true stories!-honest''[and if we don't have a board named that-we should create one]

Since I bought a rangefinder I've realized how useless I am at estimating even 500 yards, let alone 1000. That is a nice range Rob, where is it?

yes, I have practiced estimating distances, then pacing them off-it's surprising just how far 200 yards is-and how easily it is to miscalculate.I've shot a lot of deer and my ''average '' shot is probably closer to 40 yards, with the farthest[across a clear cut gully]under 200 yards-still a pretty long shot and about as far as I would attempt

I shot at 1000 yds with my 30-06 using a 165 gr bullet. It was winter with snow on the ground. The next spring I picked up my bullets as they were lying on the surface of the ground and very good condition with very little distortion.

The amount the bullet dropped was very surprizing. The exact distance excapes me but it was many feet. Mind you my rifle is sighted in for 100 yds.

I've fired a 308 over a lake (private lake :D ) at long ranges and watching for the splash, there is a whole lot of drop involved when shooting past 600

the guy is a mouthpiece to claim a 1000m shot

The huntontario board is bad, I left it a long time ago. 1000 yard shots, oh wow, ya right. 300 ok, but that still takes a good shot I know of one man who got 2 deer at just over 350 yards with a 338 Win Mag but he knows the gun and 500+ yard shots at fox and coyote over many years has shown he can shoot.

Hey... you guys got a lot of Jam slamming Ontario... there are some serious hunters here... and some good gun sites...
Good thing I have no feelings left...

I won't slam the guy because I wasn't there. He posts all kinds of crap over there and when you call him on it, you are the a$$hole in his mind. His favorite saying is "Please don't tell me ..........". Mag I know your monitoring this site, post some replies. Please.....

P.S. congrats on getting a moose

Mulletcocks! repeat examples of mulletcocks!

I agree with Fox, Huntontario isn't really worth going to any more. The only draw to go there is that the information is specific to Ontario ( wrt terrain, conditions, regs, hunting spots...) Just like you BCguys have a similar, (yet higher quality) site. It just seems they stopped talking about most of the stuff that interests me. There's really nothing interesting there any more accept pictures from people I know arround here.

BigRed: What a good gun site in Ontario? :? I find "the Lodge" just as laim, if not more.
