well acording to there members we are all idiots for discussing this guys luck  ...but then this comes from a guy who nicknamed himself gutshot ...now theres a name to be proud of

oh and remingtons balistic caculator sets a 180Gr bullet at 35.6" drop @ 500 yards if zero is 250 yards

I knew something was funny about the story when he first said over a 1000 yrds

im still waiting for the actual distance, I think we need bigredd to post a captain deadly here

300 Mag, please tell us the real distance...

1000 yards is a long ways for an average hunter or shooter with a rifle zeroed at common hunting ranges (ie 200 yards)

but for a practiced marksmen with the right equipment its very doable

whether it's 'ethical' or not is for each man to make his opinion on...in my case I dont like long shots, especially when people set themselves up for a pure long range situation just for the sake of taking a extreme range shot

lots of #### can happen in the time it takes for a bullet to travel 1000 yards, not to mention human error (we all make mistakes)

EDIT TO ADD : I Read the story and the guy is a complete ####ing retard, sorry for my language. blasting away at a moose at one kilometer is bad enough, but when you add the fact he thought his scope was off due to him missing a calf earlier is beyond belief. now see how he doesnt aim above the bull, well #### man, that ain't 1000 yards, that's about 350-450 yards, get a fricken rangefinder

Tod, that is inappropriate language.

The proper, CGN approved term is *####tard* :D

Athough I don't even know if we are allowed to use that term anymore, which would be a shame, since we started it here. As well as *mulletcock*

:D

I must admit that reading the posts on the ontario site gave me a real chuckle. Now the goof claims that he doesn'y even know how far a yard is. :? In fact it seems like there are several posters at that site that don't appear to be too bright.Oh well it is good entertainment. :)

ranges will vary in direct relationship with the amount of scotch consumed and preceeding accounts of equally unbelievable shots.Time also lengthens the distance considerably, mainly due to the demise of any corraberating witnesses, sober or otherwise

Hey its not like he's still saying it was 1000 yds, he admits he's not sure of the distance. Either way he dropped the bull. Not everyone shoots at ranges and actually knows distance so take it easy. He's a really fun guy to have on your forum.

yea well plain bul####ting isnt called for nice guy or not , lets think of the honest guys that KNOW bullet drop from a 300 mag @ 1000 yards with a 300 yard zero is over 225 inches , lets be sensible in our acusations on that note..and yea AR now theres a board just for kmb and his band of spandex wearing wannabe tactical I own every gun x5 group

basically, 300mag is an idiot. ever since i joined the huntontario board i have known that he is a ####tard

hmmmmm.....aim at the mooses hump and hit its shoulder. maybe if he used a 17hmr he could have hit it in the eye
