Ishapore 2A1 rifles

I have two in my collection but haven't shot one yet.
One is all original and the other one has been completely reparkerised and the stocks refinished. A few years back I bought a complete stock set, knowing there is probably a Bubba out there with evil intentions toward a 2A1.

If I owned one, I would likely take it out with me everytime I went shooting at the range.

Too bad there aren't more of these in Canada.

I bought this one last year for 300? (maybe 275 - I can't remember!)
It came with a spare mag and no gunsmith scope mount as well.
I haven't shot it yet

A reliable, smooth and reasonably accurate rifle with lots of character and fed with a relatively easy to find caliber. Most of the ones I have had the pleasure to see were arsenal refurbished ones in surprisingly good condition. I am told the stocks are made of teak, but as I am no expert in wood am a touch skeptical. They do weigh a (metric :p) ton and are built like tanks. In short, if you get an opportunity to procure one, do so!

Sure, but where do you FIND the 10-round chargers????? We had to feed the FNs with 5-ers.

I have shot 2 of these rifles. One looked beautiful, the other looked like the entire Pakistani Army had rolled over top of it. The pretty one would kep the bullets on the paper, more or less, the beat-to-death one was an honest 1-1/4-MOA rifle with my handloads and with DA-61 both. And the ignorant sod who owned the thing wouldn't sell it to me!

Still..... it would be nice if a few thousand more hit the market.
