Isnipe Is Awsome!

if you're going to get an iPhone, get a 3Gs, not the 3G. They're coming oout with a massive OS upgrade in June but the 3G cannot make use of most of the enhancements (like multitasking). :(

Hussar, I don't currently have sabot slugs in the database, as they are notoriously hard to track down - I will do some asking around to see what I can come up with for the next release though.

That would be great. Thanks for considering it too. I'm sure not too many people would se the data, but I think it would be useful.

These applications are so cool and the great thing is that you can take them with you to the range. I am waiting for the new IPhone upgrade before switching from my current phone.

The fella who created the program was asked about Blackberry compatibility and I think he said he would have to completly re work the program.

The Ipod Touch would work aswell. Only would be missing the atmosheric conditions. Was gonna go this route myself untill the wife got me an early Christmas present. An Iphone.

The Ipod touch does not work that well with I snipe, it will give a very different reading then the I-Phone even with G7 ballistics. I got to playing with both after the last time we went out Max.

The only thing that the iPhone can do in iSnipe, that the iPod Touch cannot, is use the Range Finder feature - as it lacks a camera.

Additionally, an iPhone has access to cellular internet, so it's possible to retrieve weather data when you don't have WiFi available.

Otherwise, they function exactly the same, with the iPod Touch running slightly faster than an iPhone (due to the lack of extra hardware to run).

There is a rangefinder on Issnipe? I've got Isnipe, how do I make that work?

Gonna get it out to the secret spot on next days off and see what I can hit.

Hope the wolves are fat and lazy this time of year..........

Hrmm... This shouldn't be the case - testing on my iPhone and iPod Touch results in the same solution, no matter which drag function used.

I'm curious what you're using for inputs exactly, that is giving your different results on each device - also, do you have the latest version? This info will help me track down the issue.

Somehow I found the range finder. By accident......

A tutorial for the program would be good, Bcode. :D

=) I have a video tutorial section on the website - some of the videos need updating to include the most recent updates, but the main functionality is definitely covered.

I'll be adding to it as time permits; I'll also add a FAQ sections when I get the chance as well.

I didn't even know there was a range finder function! Time to study:redface: Thanks for a great program and look forward to the video tutorial:D

This may be a little off topic but I have a ipod 64 coming and I downloaded itunes to my desktop computer and bought isnipe from the Apple store.

When the ipod arrives how do I transfer the application from my computer to the ipod?

I am using the latest version when I use factory data for the 6.5 x 284 with a 300 yard zero I get 17 clicks on the Iphone and 64 on the Ipod. Testing has shown that the Iphone will put me on target and the Ipod shoots over the target. The only thing is on the Ipod I can't the weather. I loaded the program to both off the computer, I will continue to play with both my next time out using my own data.

Thanks for the update spooksar - I will play with this today and see if I can get the same results.

Bushpilot - when you iPod arrives, just plug it into your computer and iTunes should open up automagically. Then just follow the registration prompts and then click the "Sync" button.

You'll probably want to go through and select some music and such to transfer over as well, before hitting sync, but it's as easy as that.

Clicking on the "Applications" heading in the iTunes side-bar will show you the apps you've downloaded, which also includes a little message in the bottom right corner that tells you how many updates are available - keep in mind that all updates on the App Store are a free download... unless the developer decides to release a new Application every time they think up a new feature *cough*Ballistic*cough*.

Max, I don't believe a new version has been released since you downloaded yours, but you can always pop into iTunes (or the App Store app on your device) and check to see if there is an updated version available.

I'm in the middle of redesigning the App - practically from the ground up... I want something that is a little easier to use and requires a lot less inputing of data each time you want to switch up your setup. As mentioned, I'm trying to address most (if not, all) the requests I've received up to this point, so it will be a longer development cycle than normal - but the wait will be worth it, I promise.

This is so cool, so instead of estimating or stepping up in yards gradually, I could go from 100 yards, right to 500 and be on target? Sorry I'm a newb when it comes to this data type stuff, and I still don't fully quite comprehend what MOA means, so the adjustment in "clicks" will help.

Also I seen a picture of some guy who had a bracket for his iphone that mounted to his pic rail, this would be super handy to have all that data right there hands free... Anyone herd of this?

That's exactly right 50cal. Enter your 100 yard zero information and press compute - and it will give you the results for whatever distance you'd like to switch to.

As for the HUD rail-mount... admittedly it's pretty cool looking, but keep in mind that the iPhone/iPod has not been ruggedized to withstand the repeated recoil of a full-bore rifle and I would imagine such a device would null&void any warranty coverage you might have had.

Here is a handy introduction to MOA and MIL dots: http://www.boomershoot.org/general/TruthMilDots.htm

absolutely fantastic program me and my brother both bought it! maybe a GPS range finder kinda thing like all the golf BS range finders.. motionX gps seem's to work though. another thing is some people blame the ballistics software when they dont hit but they dont know the actual starting velocities!! no chrono, no go go :)

ps 17 click's vs 68 clicks?? sounds like a settings thing. it's prolly 17.25 moa ... vs 68 clicks. or something messed like that different settings on each ipod/itouch. I could be wrong just a guess :)
