Does anyone have any experience with these pistols? The ad on Marstar makes them sound great but the price suggests otherwise, i.e. you get what you pay for. Also does anyone know if the Israeli army actually use this product?

I've had the opportunity to handle most of them and fire a couple of them. They represent a great value for the money. They are well made and well finished. Not sure about the supply of parts & accessories for them.

I have a Cherokee G, with stock. I have always found the gun reliable*, accurate, easy and pleasant to shoot. The stock is pretty much useless; save your money on that.

* except that sometimes when I insert one of the magazines, the slide will move forward on its own.

Oh yes, one mag holds only nine rounds. The problem seems to be that a link of the spring gets underneath the follower, preventing it from going down all the way.

All in all, I am very happy with my BUL :D and my Norc NZ85 :D, moreso than my other guns.

What on Earth am I talking about? I love shooting ALL my guns. :dancingbanana:

I don't think they do... and if they do it is in very small numbers. The standard issue sidearm for IDF and the various security forces is the IMI Jericho (what we know as the "Baby Eagle") in .41 AE.

I also have the Bul Cherokee G. I have put through only a few hundred rounds so far, and =I have had the same results posted by Kveldulf (reliable/accurate/etc), however, I have not had the problem of the slide moving forward on magazine insertion. Indeed, magazine only holds 9.

Bul Cherokee - 9 or 10 rounds?

You're right, both sizes of Cherokee are advertised as having 10 round magazines. The larger model 'G', which I have can only hold 9. I purchased an additional 3 mags, but have yet to even take them out of the packaging to have a look. I've heard that they are produced by Mec-Gar, but I don't know that for a fact.

I'm enjoying the gun. There seems to be slight play in the trigger with the safety on, not unlike many CZ-75 clones, but it's not too bad. Best attribute about the gun for me personally is the grip. Out of the box, it fits me like a glove. Great 'ergonomics' as they say.

I've a Bul M5 IPSC model. It's utterly reliable, as accurate as i can hold it and has good fit and finish. Two thumbs up for the Bul 1911 product. I've no experience with their double action guns.

Bul started off making injected metal parts for 1911s and not only was it a first for the process but the quality was unreal ... the sear, discinnect and hammer sets were as drop in as you can get - with very little need for smithing...as for their handguns again great quality - as for the 9 rounds sounds like the mags might just need a little work - if not i'm sure they will exchange the company stands behind their product.

No, they do NOT. They use, SIG, Glock, HK and Jericho (CZ clone)

The mags I had also held 9 rounds.

So take them apart and there is a long bolt screwed into the top of the base plate. Take it off, cut it down, put it back, and "Voila", a ten round magazine.

"...standard issue sidearm for IDF...Jericho..." It isn't chambered in .41AE. The 941 doesn't come in .41AE anymore. Hasn't for years. IMI doesn't load it either. The IDF uses 9mm pistols. Glocks, Sigs, BHP's and yes Jericho's but not in .41AE. Of course, the IDF doesn't advertise exactly what kit they use.

Do the Bul Pistols fit a person with smaller/average sized hands?
I wondered if the thicker grips meant you needed larger hands to hold them correctly.

Anyone?

Smoothbore, my hands are very average sized, and the Bul fits me like a glove. I've held large gun grips before that I had a difficult time getting my hand around, but the Bul is perfect.

OK, that's excellent news! Thanks for the feedback.
I agree they look like great guns. And the price is right.
What's not to like? :)
