Hey guys,
A buddy of mine picked up an ISSC mk22 (Scar Clone) that looks great handles nice but is incredibly unrealiable. It has constant fail to fire issue. At best maybe 6 or 7 shots before a fail to fire. After doing some research ISSC's solution is to put a washer on the one tension screw which will solve the problem...wrong. The firing pin reset spring is over-built IMO and is a major part of the problem. I've read that other shooters have removed up to 5 coils out of the spring. Even after doing this I'm still having difficulty trying to get this thing to run. The firing pin safety was also removed as I thought it may be causing a bit of friction against the firing pin preventing it from striking with full force. Still, the best I can get out of it is about 6 rounds before a failure. The hammer seems to be dropping with enough force but I'm thinking about blocking the end of the firing pin spring to give it a bit more force or just keep removing coils from the return spring....it still seems a bit beefy.
I'm just curious to know if anyone elses is shooting one of these? What issues they encountered and how were they corrected. I'm shocked at the amount of work that's been put into this gun for the amount of money they are worth.
