Issc mk22 scar.

Just got mine today. can't wait to get out to the range with it!!

Going to tac it out and have some goodies already on order for it (EO Tech, rail covers, vert grip, etc).

Also thinking of getting the 'silencer adaptor' for it [1/2- 28] http://www.kygunco.com/products2.cfm/id/37237/name/issc-mk22-msr-silencer-adapter. Then I can then attach a Noveske KX3 flash hider!!

Here she is as she arrived yesterday:

Ive been considering buying one of these for a while.

Have some Qs.

First. Do people still have the same problems today as from release days (light primer strikes/FT/FTF)

Second. Is this rifle going to be a "Version 2" with fixes coming?

As much as I want one, I keep reading how it just 'isn't a 10-22'. I mean it looks fantastic, but I dont want something that will agravate me on the range when Im there to have fun.

Also Ammo specific... mostly which ones to stay away from, and which ones to try. I would love for this to fire the cheapest out there, but from my reading, seems very picky on what it liked to eat.

See that's my point. Most other .22s once you nail down what ammos it likes function fine with rarely any FTF/FTEs. But it seems the MK22 keeps hiccuping all the way down it's life.

And it's usually the same thing "light primer strike"

I want it to function pretty flawlessly once it gets past the "break in period"

PS. How's WolfRange... been meaning to check it out over Selkirk G&F.

I think I've got its 'happy ammo' down. Will tinker with a few others but the CCIs did the trick. The primer strikes seemed light but it worked...so I can't really complain.

White Wolf's range is excellent. Should have joined it a year and a half ago when I moved here. :D

I picked up one of these last week, will be taking it out next weekend im hoping for the best considering all the negative stuff ive read, but i think keeping it clean and feeding it good ammo is probably the key

I bought one yesterday and it really seems to like the CCIs. Went through a hundred without any problems.

Post when you're past the "break in"

I've had my AR going since round one. Im probably at round 5000~ and zero FTF/FTE. That's my expectations even for a 22... (especially at 700$)

I dont expect thousands of rounds without any failures, but I keep reading out of every mag at least one malfunction. And it's always the same issue.

You'd think if you're spending that much cash on a rimfire (other then LCF) it should perform.

I found this posting on another gun site and thought I would pass it along:

http://fnforum.net/forums/fn-scar-16s/25613-issc-mk22-supressors-scopes-acessories-etc-11.html

I wrote ISSC an email describing some of the issues that have affected MK 22 owners on this and other sites. I stated that I would post any reply as a way to get the ISSC party line on these concerns out to the user base. So here is the reply:

Dear Mr Hinze, Thank you for taking the time to write us. Every suggestions to improve our products are very welcome and we take them all very serious. Some of the mentioned issues were already solved. For example, we use a stronger material for the stock now, so the stock won't brake anymore. For the three upper rails we use threaded bushings and thread locker (thread locker in general on every screw) to make sure they won't come loose. You are right there is a learning curve with every product you place at the market and we will never stop to improve our products and you are right again this is only possible through a good communication with the users and people like you giving use some useful feedback. Regarding your warranty, usually modifications like you did on your weapon would harm the warranty but because of your special situation through the change of our importer it won't void it. Thank you again for all you suggestions and be sure we take a close look on every of them. I just bought one at the Toronto Sportsman show and I am amazed that this thing isn't a restricted firearm just like all the others in its class.

WARNING - Just a safety warning before firing yours for the first time. Watch the youtube videos on the mk 22 and look for ISSC MSR MK22 Rifle - Jammed Misfire... This is definitely something to keep and eye on if you are firing the gun for the first time! Bonus part is ISSC-Austria will take your gun back and reship you a new one. So watch the video and read the dialog below so you know what to do if the bolt becomes jammed open!

Enjoy!
