ISSC Rifle... very disappointing!

It would be one of the issues, but I believe it to be a solvent issue(M-Pro7). I do recall Para Ordnance(pistols) had a similar issue with their finishes back in the day. All in all, I will be selling this firearm when it returns from service.

I didn't use any solvent on mine except Hoppes #9 down the bore. I'm careful not to get it anywhere else on any of my guns so it can't be that.

Even if it is solvent related that sucks.

Anyone here ordered parts from ISSC in the states? I did, went throught the order process from start to finish. A couple of hours later the order was cancelled ,can not ship to Canada. My credit card was charged and refunded in the same day. Yet to see the credit on my statement. It has been over a month.

Then I decided to ship my firearm for service.

Agree!

wow... I was seriously considering this ISSC rifle but went with a Ruger 10/22 instead. Still would like to have one eventually but will probably wait until version 2 or something, to have all the bugs and politics stuff worked out.

I totally agree and wait for a gen 2 rifle to come out! I love this friearm as well but I'm not paying $700 for a problem!

I currently have a Rem VTR Gen 2 and It's shoots great as long as it's not Rem ammo - how stupid is that?!

and the issues continue...was happy that I resolved the ftf issues (with the gsg5 firing pin mod) and was finally able to shoot cci ammo basically without issue (i still cant shoot any bulk ammo without many many FTEs). About 300 rounds later though and new problems arised. After the last round in a mag, the bolt failed to lock back all the way which would inevitably cause a ftf on the next round chambered from a new mag. I took it apart and found that the issue was an aluminum lever that was not fully engaging with an empty mag...it seemed as though it was bent out somewhat. I bent it back a little ways so that it would engage a little better on an empty mag and that seems to have resolved the issue. its hard to explain but I will try and post some pictures later. That though was not my only problem...upon disassembling the rifle I found that the threads from the nut in the bolt (connected to the problem screw) had stripped completely ....so I had to replaced that as well. It seems that this occurred from recoil and if that is the case...wow. Finally, I have been noticing a whole lot of finish peeling off...this is often occurring in areas pretty much untouched by cleaning agents so I dont think its related entirely to that. It seems to be happening on any area of the gun that has moving parts or that rubs against another. My god this gun is a pain in the ass.

:bangHead:

ps. max tactical: I am getting very close to being fed up if you want my lemon lol!

Just let me know? What colour is your MK22? I keep getting mixed reviews on you tube!

Took my new MK22 out today, short on time only 44 rounds, Rem Thunderbolts, first mag went fine, second had 3 FTFeeds. Gonna reshoot tomorrow with better ammo(CCI stingers and Federal Champion) hopefully with better luck. Thunderbolts seem to be crap and won't cycle them again through this gun.

I was thinking this looked like a very cool rifle...after reading this and many more like it...forget it. Not for me.

It all started innocently with a light primer hit. Then it became failure to fire/failure to eject/failure to feed. Took it home tighten the screws, worked a bit more. Cleaned the rifle to notice the finish coming off.

Two months later, still out for service. Distributor is trying to repair. Waiting to see if ISSC will issue a refund.

It's really too bad because it is a really good looking rifle. But I've been scouring the internet for comments about it and the same things keep recurring for many people.

The Ruger 10-22 based SR-22 would be a much more solid choice, although they look awful...:( But who needs a rifle that doesn't work? Paint peeling off?

I ditched my mk22. lost a fair amount of coin but I added a couple years to my life, saved myself from pulling out more hair and got enough to afford a maurader kit for the 10/22!

I almost did the same thing. I was offered around half the cost of retail, 20 bucks for each magazine, with the firearm only 1 week old. They where aware of the issues with it. After initial shock went away, I firmly asked for warranty work which they really wanted no part of.
