It is a blonde and she gorgeous....

So how do these rifles shoot? Will they compare to any of the other bolt actions in the same price range? I've been thinking about a new rifle for hunting season and I have always like full stock rifles.

Crude and highly functional is a fair statement on Zastava overall. Reference the prices though, they're cheap, and likely represent decent value as such. I was pretty underwhelmed by them when I used one of their .458's in Africa a bit.

For similar money, I believe most (myself included) will appreciate a Ruger more. Nobody, to my eyes, can beat the Ruger's classic straight comb Mannlicher / RSI / International / full stocks, I have a No.1 RSI and feel scantly a prettier rifle is made.

Will take it to the range next week and post a review on it... JP.

Plumb fergot about her.

You're a rotten little show-off bastage, aren't you!

Hey, wait a minute 'looky, I know where you "FOUND" that rifle, I was looking real hard at it too but had already massively overblown my budget. How'd you make out with the "#### on open" conversion? As I recall that little 93, or was it a 95, was as smooth as silk and in 7X57........a true classic.

It is a Chilean Mauser in the the 1895 Modelo.
The #### on opening was a challenge to me and all said and done, I think I could
tackle it again.
The kit was from Dayton Traister and was just under $50 to my door. He was trying to
talk me into the trigger kit, but this trigger isn't horrible.
I should of done a proper "how to" on it, but I stumbled a fair bit on it.
The biggest two things were the military trigger has a nub on the front that loaded the
bolt movement. Once I figured I didn't need this nub and removed it, all things fell into place.
The bolt got caught/locked on me and I couldn't open it. I drilled a small detent/hole in the bottom
of the cocking piece and managed to pull it back to unlock the bolt using the point of an awl.
Some here may understand what happened, I'm still sort of unsure why the bolt got stuck closed.
All said and done, she works well, cocks nice and the trigger is set at two pounds.
I haven't tried it out live yet.
This, I am hoping will sometime after the long weekend.
Got a blazing duel to settle with the gun powder feller..........

Would I do it again..........yubetcha.
Nice improvement.

Oh, she is stamped 7x57.............. : D

Factory Mod 7 MS, in 7-08 and I just found another in 350 RM which I just could not resist!! Stock is a classic style, laminated, with shadowline cheekpiece and now get this........a fully floated barrel!! Even the metal nose cap doesn't touch the barrel. These are a sweet rifle but NOT worth what Remington asks for them new, I found both mine used, for what is, in my estimation, in line with the quality

Damn I never knew Remington produced something that pretty from the factory. I'm usually a sucker for walnut and shy away from laminate, but that stock sure suits that rifle. Good score. If my wife saw it she would probably steal it, she says her rifle is too ugly (plain old synthetic 700.)

Thanks to c-fbmi that brought that up, did check my Manlicher and we have a winner here to fully floated barrel... even the nose cap, gap to small to insert a paper but got confirmation with my ballistic light, an all around clear gap, should be a shooter... JP.

Just received my Zastava 308 Full Manlicher, blonde wood deep bluing, after trying a few new scopes, this Hilux seem to fit it like a glove, Redfield Mauser bases Millet low rings, the cheekrest ist just perfect, cant wait to shoot it, trigger is good, i've seen better (will see after 100 rounds, i will get better, it is breaking at 5 pounds), action is smooth and overall finish is very good, this is a good catch for 770.00... JP.
