It Might Be Time To Go Home...

I have heard similar complaints, Gravel - especially with the alloy guns. The trigger looks like it was fabbed up by a drunk on a drill press - the holes don't line up all that well...but the trigger mechanism is the best trigger I have had on any firearm I've owned. There is NO creep and it breaks like glass. It is a most intriguing pistol - it looks like a 'Bubba' POS but it shot like a champ for years of heavy use.

I am leaning toward Les Baer too as I read and dig into this. They say on their website 'Ask about our 1-1/2" guarantee!' but I can't find any specifics on that. Do you know anything about it? I really like the idea of an accuracy gurantee. Thanks for all the advice boys!

The guarantee is 1 1/2 inches at 50 yards, most of their guns will do that anyway, but if you get the guarantee and the gun doesn't, you have recourse.

I know I'm reviving an old thread, but after 5 pages of suggestions. Why has no one noticed that the barel may have worn out also? a oversized fitted match grade bushing will help, but may not be the only problem. Barrels do wear out, especially old manufactuers.

My 2c

According to Larry Vickers - who knows more about 1911's than I do, (almost everyone can say that)- he ran a 1911 through 80,000 rounds, and noticed accuracy drop off a little at distance, so he chrono'd the gun and load, it had lost velocity due to barrel wear (it had actually gotten bigger and gasses were by-passing the bullet causing a velocity drop). So yes, it's possible, just not really likely.

Are yours eyes still good? Nerves still steady?
If so, spend the cashola on a LB Premier series .45 ACP gun. Factory guaranteed for 1.5" at 50yds with the steel 5" model ( not the SS one). The "regular" LB is only good for 3" at 50yds off rest. Hahahaha!
300 rd break in before cleaning. Use Breakfree CLP.
This is straight from the mouth of a LB gunsmith I talked to at SHOT this year.
Drawback is you'll have to wait a loooong time to get one!
Failing all that, tune the cr#p out of a Norinco! (joke!)

I look forward to checking out your norinco haha.
